Laptop hooked to LCD TV issue

I just bought a big 'ol LCD TV today and an HDMI cable to hook it to my laptop. It set up just fine, I get a duplicate desktop on my TV and it looks awesome when I play games on it :supergrin:

Interesting issue came up when I turned my TV off, it shut my computer down as well! I'm using a Toshiba Satellite, less than a year old. Windows 7 Home Premium with an ATI Radeon Mobility 4500 graphics card.

I looked around through the ATI control program and haven't found anything relating to this. I'll keep snooping around, but any information would be great, thanks guys.

interesting..i never heard of this issue throughout my years in working with computers.....i used to have a toshiba with windows 7 and this never happened to mines...maybe its one of your system settings

On a side note, I changed my setup from duplicate to extended desktop, someone in my platoon suggested that as a solution.

No dice.

azn, what system settings should I be looking at?

Also, the TV I have is a Samsung Series 4 450 Model LN32C450E1D
