Prepped to begin putting in some real range time

Does anyone have any leads on bulk-ammo (500- or 1000-rounds) in 40 and/or 9MM?

I recently became a new - and very proud - Glock-owner of a G23 and G26, both in OD (luv the OD). I'm not new to firearms, shooting, or CCW, but for about the last 10 years, my interest with firearms took a back seat to everything else going on in my life. But I'm happy to share my return to handguns for hobby and CCW purposes. Over the last 2 months, I think I've done a good job of setting myself up gear-wise (holsters, XS Big Dots, range-bag, clothing for CCW, ammo, tools, etc). But now, it's time to begin putting in some real range time for the first time in my life.

I've been stocking up on range-ammo here and there from Wal-Mart but it seems to me there ought to be a better place out there for me to buy range-ammo in bulk that I just don't know about.

A couple of weeks ago someone had posted a GT thread about Gander Mountain having a really good buy on 9MM ammo but that offer is no longer available due to all the inventory being sold.

You are actually getting about the best price around. Unless you get a deal on reloads the Wal-mart prices are hard to beat.

sgammo.com has Silver Bear for $8.75 in 9mm. I've bought several 500 round lots of that stuff and it's all worked perfectly in my Glocks and Sig 229. It's not reloadable if that matters to ya. Stay away from the Brown Bear, it smells bad and the smell will permeate the gun.

9mm at my local WalMart is $0.20 per round after tax. I've never found a better deal online.

I agree. I bought a 1000 rounds of ferderal from Wally World for under $200 out the door.
