Floppy scope base fix?

I just got a Mod 70 Win in .338 Win mag and it keeps rattling things loose.

1) Beat a cheap scope I borrowed off a buddy t pieces... Bought a nightforce.

2) Kept rattling the cheap scope rings loose... Bought some Warnes.

3) They work fine and rattled the Weaver bases loose today after abut a box and a half of rounds.


Do I need new bases or can I get by with some loc-tite?

a 338 win mag is a heavy recoiling gun that will trash cheap components,

Get good base and rings, lock tite them down, and also torque them down with a wrench to whatever their spec's are.. then they will not move

Sounds like the base is not fitting right or the screws are not torqued right.

Start from the rifle up.

1. Make sure the screw holes are free of burs and the threads are not stripped or galled.

2. Mount the correct base and torque the screws properly.

3. Mount, torque, align, and lap the bottom of the rings.

4. Mount scope and top half of the rings.
