I installed the sights I had on my gen 3 glock, a warren rear and a novak FO front. They shot POA/POI on the gen 3 but on the gen 4 they shot 3 inchs high, anyone know why this would be.

Are the guns the same model?

Measure the height of the sights and let us know what they are.

yes both a G17

Aside from the 1:1,000,000 chance of a bad barrel or slide, I can only see it being the shooter. Don't suspect you have access to a Ransom Rest or you probably wouldn't be asking the question. Do the triggers feel the same? I guess the grip and/or recoil spring on the Gen4 might change your ability to control the gun the same way -- better or worse. Have you fired from a supported position?

triggers are the same, I have had other people shoot it and it is 3 inchs high for everyone, I think my calipers are saying its .185 on the front sight

Longshot, but have you looked to make sure the barrel is coming up perfectly flush with the slide (completely into battery)?

3 inches high at what range... 10 yards? 50 yards?

I have a new Gen4 G-19. I moved some Ameriglo sights from a Gen3 G-17RTF2 to the 19 & it hits the same as the 17 did... up to 25 yards.

from 7 yards to 25 yards it hits high, not as much at 25 yards as 7,

That makes absolutely no sense. Line of sight is above the bullet at muzzle. Trajectory climbs to coincide at some point. The trajectory should continue to take the bullet higher and higher relative to line of sight (POA) well past 25 yds.

Need the elevation of both sights.

Sometimes it works that way. I have two Gen3 G23's- 1 takes a taller rear sight to make the same POI. After assuming they would be the same once and having to buy extra rear sights to "fix" the POI, I now use the plastic stock sights of different heights and measure them w/ calipers and then order Ameriglo sights accordingly. Ameriglo gives the measurements instead of the generic one model number or set for all 9,40,45's and another for 10,357.

Here are some targets of mine showing the two different G23's. Note that the MSL G23 now has a taller rear 7.3mm.

I think your front sight is too short. Warren sights usually use a .215" front. You can get a good f.o. from Dawson Precision.

Guys, how would anything about the sights explain why one G17 shot to POA and another G17 with the same sights did not?

What size grip are you using on the GEN 4 ? If you are going bareback (SF) or large, that could be you're problem. Different size grip/handhold...know what I mean ?

I am a little confused. Isn't POA and POI different at different distances?

On a G19 Gen 4 aren't the factory sights set up so that POA=POI at 25 yards?

You are correct -- the position of POA relative to POI is different at different distances, and designed to be equal at 25 yds. This is for all Glocks, not just the Gen4 G19.

Thank you, that's what I thought, I just wanted to be sure, in particular about the 25 yards.
