I'm not sure kung naging topic na to dati

San kayo nabili ng kape pang brew?

ewan ko lang kung biased ako (sa mura ) , pero mas nasasarapan ako sa barako brewed batangas style over the sosyal brands

I get mine bagong roast ( i hope ) sa mahohagny market sa tagaytay
There are several stores pero dun ak nabili sa Noceda's Poultry supply hahaha
Guests who ask about my brewed coffee natitigilan pagnalaman galing sa supplier ng chicken feed

anyway, where do you get yours?

Last time I bought ground coffee was at the Davao airport. Really great aroma.

I wonder if Chase and Sanborn is still being sold here.

you're right newly roasted is best. coffee deteriorates quickly if it's allowed to be in contact with air after roasting.

for espresso i use supercrema by lavazza, relatively cheap from bacchus. costs about P7 per shot. qualita oro when feeling luxurious.

for unwelcome guests they get blend 45.

If it plain brewed coffee, I would rather go to dunking donuts. For my daily home brew nothing beats kapeng barako. Unfortunately, yun supplier ko missing in action na. :crying:

kalinga coffee also very good! nakalimutan ko magpabili sa kakilala ko!

Bo's coffee ni gundog after pistol or rifle shooting the best!

Gourmet's coffee from shopwise or Tagaytay I usually get the premium blend drip grind. Once a month I got a supply of Kalinga coffee from my bro who is based in baguio.

PS. Nothing beats the smell of brewed coffee in the morning:supergrin:

+1 for Gourmet's, especially if you get a bag of beans and grind them at home. Espresso blend or Manila is good. French press sa bahay pag weekend. Tumbler press mula Mon till Fri. I'm usually moving fast to work in the morning. Masarap yung crema ng cape when you use the press. Filter paper just traps'em and you end up discarding the good stuff sa coffee beans.

No brainer eh. If there is one vestige of urban living I will take with me to the boondoks - it is drinking freshly brewed coffee using freshly ground beans...no sugar nor milk...just plain ol' black.

I'll try Nocedo's or Binondo when I swing by those places.

This is how I "roll" with my mug of coffee on any given day. Sitting in front of my reloading bench and reloading match grade 5.56cal or .308 ammo with 80's music on the background. BTW, im doing it on a single stage press 50rnds per batch.

There was a Delifrance near my old office at the CA where I sometimes had breakfast. Here, I have to content myself with McDonalds, who incidentally has far better coffee than Jollibee.

Ninong Spark, yung coffee sa HCM market sa Vietnam is plain Arabica. There are some traders who mix/blend Arabica and Robusta on 50-50 basis.

"Kapeng barako" is Liberica to include that of Amadeo's.

Blend 45 connotes that in your cup of instant coffee there were 45 coffee beans that went into your regular-sized cup.
Question: what if you pour in less than a teaspoon of that instant coffee? Will it be BLEND 45? or BLEND 43? or BLEND 38? or what?

NOTE: freshly ground coffee beans-brewed and into your cup WILL LAST ONLY UP TO 30 MINUTES. Longer...oxidation sets in...NOW YOUR COFFEE WILL HAVE HINT OF ACID TASTE. Kaya Kuya Allegra, huwag mo patagalin sa kamay mo. Consume in 30 minutes. Any time pass that...TUTUBUAN YAN NG TALABA!

GRampa pogi, how about the roating process how long will you keep your roated coffee beans before you grind the beans may time limit din ba?

better ba that you rooast your own everytime you want to drink coffee para pure and acid free taste pa siya.?

Kuya Pot, newly harvested coffee beans, which are light to dark green in color, last longer than roasted. For home consumption, better roast quantity that you think will last you to up to 6 weeks ONLY (the normal shelf life span of roasted beans before they turn acidic). Just get enough everytime you need to grind. After grinding, consume at once.

You can use ordinary pan in roasting. Para ka lang nagto-toast ng bigas that you grind and use for "kare-kare mix".

The degree of roasting is SUBJECTIVE. Light roasted will render true coffee flavor including the variety you have used. Heavy roasting or dark roasting normally emits "burnt" aroma & flavor (which is also preferred by many). Light usually light brown/dark usually dark brown.

After roasting-itapat mo lang sa electric fan to cool and stabilize.

Just wrap in foil and store away from direct light. Never refrigerate as it may absorb moisture causing it to stale easily.

Note: marami ng commercially packed roasted beans BUT I WILL NOT recommend as preservatives were used unto such-to prolong shelf life.

Another note: even in making "timpla" your instant coffee-there is a better procedure to attain optimum taste and aroma of you coffee. Just say so, I will state next time.

Pot, sumakit daliri ko ha? I blow out mo'ko ng kape.

I usually buy in 250 gram quantities but before i bought in 100gr packs para ma try ang mga diff blends na ni suggest nung nagtitinda. just bought a kilo there kanina
Mas mahal sya from my tagaytay sukii , about 3x more hehe
Pero I interviewd the person inside the counter, and she knows her coffee
Plus the beans can be roasted while you wait
Barako is expensive than arabica or exelsea kasi kokonti available
Some stores claim they sell barako but it's actua;l;y a barako and robusta mix
Barako has a bigger coffee bean
Havent tasted it yet, bought a 70%barako-20%arabica-10%exelcea mix
Cant wait for breakfast bukas :)

If i remeber right, a kilo of barako sa Mahogany market tagayatay is a little less than 300p
A kilo sa 18 days is p800+
But it will all boil down to taste
If it does taste better kasi I wassume it even fresher plus newly roasted, kahit x5 pa presyo :)

For some unknown reason , mataas ang high blood ko
well, it could be the 1/4 kilo of lechon cebu sa Total alabang for lunch everyday but I doubt it

i didnt know coffee beans could be decaffeinated

I'm not sure kung naging topic na to dati

San kayo nabili ng kape pang brew?

ewan ko lang kung biased ako (sa mura ) , pero mas nasasarapan ako sa barako brewed batangas style over the sosyal brands

I get mine bagong roast ( i hope ) sa mahohagny market sa tagaytay
There are several stores pero dun ak nabili sa Noceda's Poultry supply hahaha
Guests who ask about my brewed coffee natitigilan pagnalaman galing sa supplier ng chicken feed

anyway, where do you get yours?
