I plan on replacing the stock recoil spring and guide rod in my new G34 with a set from Wolff. I will be sticking with factory ammo for now, mostly WWB and Federal 115gr from Walmart.

My question is, how many pounds should the recoil spring be? I know the stock spring is 17 lbs. What would be your suggestion as far as spring weight out of these choices?

Reduced Power...: 10, 11, 12, 14, 15 & 16 Lb.
Factory Standard.: 17 Lb.
Extra Power.........: 19, 20, 22 & 24 Lb.
Also, should I just go ahead and change all the springs out to Wolff springs? Or should I just stick with changing out the recoil and striker spring?

Thanks!

I have stuck with the original, factory parts. Most of my friends are using 14 pounds in a G-34. If mine ever breaks, that is what I plan to use.

I am using a 13lb spring with WWB ammo. I could probably cut a coil off of that if I would reload my own.
