Theres been this racoon that has been living around my area for about 8 months. I almost put a .40 hole in him one morning when he startled me @ 4:30 in the morning en route to my car but i managed to maneuver around him because i know for sure the cops would be coming making me late for work. Neighbors are complete idiots and leave cat food out and have seen this 30lb coon too many times. Tonight was the last straw, I was researching cci .22 cb long ammo and sounds real quiet. As i was walking my girl to the car this thing scared the crap out of me snarling in a tree right above me. I ran inside got my airsoft gun and hit it maybe a couple times. I'm sick of this raccoon. This weekend I'm going to lay some food out in my back yard and play the waiting game with gramps' ol' Ruger 10/22 loaded with the CBs.

If you need to be quiet I recommend one of these and a trash can full of water.

You are going to kill a raccoon because it startles and scares you? I hope your neighbors don't forget to cough first if they happen to approach you.:faint:

most raccoons are carriers of many nasty parasites, disease and bacteria. that thing is like a 30lb cockroach

good luck snuffing it. i like vafish's idea. a lot

I've had this issue before and I have houses around me. Not in the city or town surrounding but not enough out of it to have woods in my back yard. For me my 22 lever rifle and a remington subsonic did the trick. Put one through the middle of him and let him run off back in the woods and die there. Mine never came back and the noise is not too bad with a subsonic.
