Seem like the same thing. Both offered at same dealer. But, very different prices (yes... I accounted for the difference in round count) One is "Ranger." The other is in a plain white box.:

5.56 Winchester M855 62gr. Penetrator Ammo (http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_info.php/pName/100rds-556-winchester-m855-62gr-penetrator-ammo)
vs.
5.56 Winchester Ranger M855 62gr. Penetrator Ammo (http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_info.php/pName/200rds-556-winchester-ranger-m855-62gr-penetrator-ammo)

Thanks in advance for educating me!

The acceptable failure rate on the Ranger is less than the standard M855. Other than the QA standards the ammo is pretty much the same.

And, versus this for even less money:
5.56 Lake City XM855 62gr. Penetrator Ammo (http://www.ammunitiontogo.com/product_info.php/pName/100rds-556-lake-city-xm855-62gr-penetrator-ammo)

What Hotpig said.

Winchester's Ranger line of ammo is marketed towards Law Enforcement and thus is made to a more strict and tighter standards.
