View Full Version : 9MM Single Stack Carry
I have a M&P 9MM FS, 9MM Pro and 9MMc.
Plus a couple of S&W revolvers.
I like Smith.
To replace a Kahr EDC I'm looking for a 9MM single stack, alloy frame with around a 3.5" barrel. The M&P 9MMc is nice but I often wish for a flatter pistol for EDC.
I hate the new S&W website. It's very hard to compare features.
Can I get suggestions?

I carry a Kahr MK9. SS, 6+1 and easy to conceal.
Deadly accurate and 100% reliable.
I love the T9 (4") and E9(3.6").
Both would fit your carry needs.

The SW 908 series are nice, inexpensive CCW pistols.
I carry a Kahr MK9. SS, 6+1 and easy to conceal.
Deadly accurate and 100% reliable.

I have a TP9, a PM9 and a P380.
But I would like a nice single stack Smith.
Other than Kahr I think single stack pistols are a dying breed.

I've repeated it several times over on MP-Pistol.com, but another forum member posted that he had talked to s S&W rep at the NRA gun show who indicated S&W was working on a single stack M&P.
I keep hoping, but nothing so far.

This looks similar to my Smith and Wesson 6906. It's a double stack, but my experience with it can be generalized to the single stacks. It is reliable and accurate.
I also have a Kahr MK9. It has been a flawless tack driver for me.
I would carry either gun, although both require practice time to master their trigger characteristics. The 6906 has a very different trigger pull in double action than in single action. The Kahr has a long creepy trigger pull.
If I was going to carry either, I would want a little range time to make sure that I was still dead on with it.
The Kahr is the most compact 9mm I own.
... neither is my carry choice, but, this is a single stack thread ....
I like the 3rd gen Smiths.

Well, I've always thought the 3913 was pretty much the best example of state-of-the-art when it came to a small, lightweight, single column mag 9mm defensive pistol. A commercialized ASP, so to speak.
My CS9 is slightly smaller and feels very lively in my hand.
If S&W comes up with a new single column mag pistol, it will remain to be seen if they do it in the new Bodyguard, SD or the M&P lines. I'd think it unlikely we'd see another metal-framed (aluminum alloy) 9, what with their emphasis on new plastic offerings, but we can hope.
Only when Western NY is really cold and I have about 5 layers on do I carry my M&P 9MM.
If S&W starts selling a single stack 9MM I may not be first in line to buy one but I doubt that I would be any later than second.
Smith, do you hear me? Smith??
S&W autos are underrated and very reliable. Good luck getting a single stack one.

I just ordered a Walther PPS. I know it's not a S&W, but it is a sweet single stack 9mm. From reports, it's very accurate and a quality weapon.

I have an old 3913 that shoots very well.
Taurus 709 slim
I EDC the .40 version
Reliable, small, accurate :)
I know that other people have bad opinions about Taurus, but I've been very pleased with my purchase :)
