I have been getting crashes to blue screen more and more. I have no idea what is causing this. Any ideas?

No vista home premium. I have had two more crashes in the last few minutes.

I have no idea what is going on with my crappy computer. I need some help here I'll get the system specs and post them up.

This says different but in my experience error codes from the blue screen of death are almost useless.

Oh well I give up. This piece of crap has been doing it almost constantly now. I guess I will take it to a tech. That or shoot it with with my shotgun!

Since the returned codes in your 2 post are different, its hard to tell. I say install Ubuntu.

By the time you (or you pay a tech to do it) diagnose what is causing a blue screen - unless its painfully evident, like blue screens started immediately upon installing a piece of hardware/software - you could and should have just paid to reinstall Windows.

Be sure all your data is backed up, and either reinstall windows yourself or get someone to do it for you. It is well worth your money to upgrade to Windows 7 and away from Vista - that OS is a cruel joke.

The other thing to do, and so few do it, is to check the Event Log for the entry regarding the BSOD. It actually looks like this where you got the info you pasted into your post... and there should be a series of numbers that will help you ID the actual source on the BSOD it's self.

You can, on occasion, actually tie the 8 character numbers to a real potential solution using MS Knowledge base.

Check to see if you have S.M.A.R.T. turned on in BIOS for the hard drives, assure that all you cooling fans are functional, and try the MS Knowlege base or MS communities to try and find the root cause...

As mentioned, get your data backed up ASAP.

Also - go through and delete all temp files in the User and Windows directory, dump any old Update files... Then try a CHKDSK to fix any disk errors. Follow up with a defrag to see if that will help you out too.

Otherwise you may just be reinstalling to a temporary functional state.... know what I mean???

I would go a step further than Pierre's-
Press the 'windows' key and the r key at the same time. When the 'run' line comes up, type 'cmd' without the quotes.

When the c: prompt appears, type
chkdsk /r

with a space between chkdsk and the /

Let that run and see what happens, but I'd copy 'documents and settings' to an external drive asap and buy and install 7 professional and put the past in the trash.

Well the tech has come to conclusion that the hard drive was failing so that was replaced. While transferring data the system crashed again. I got great news today that the mother board is reportedly toast:steamed:. He recommended an intel brand. They specked a basicly new system at over $900:rofl:. I told them he could pound sand. The mother board in the comp right now is an ASUS M2A-VM SERIES amd690g. They claim this motherboard is known to have failures. I have found several on ebay, new, for sale. They claimed it was so old they could only get a used one. The system is only about 2 years old. I think I will just buy one and have them replace it. I will get more details Friday. Thoughts?

I would think you can get a suitable, not top shelf, system from NewEgg or TigerDirect for less than $900... But then again I don't know the features of the $900 system.

You CAN use the old hard drive to recover your data by putting it in the new computer (most likely) as a second drive and pulling the data over to it... provided it's not corrupted.

Now, if you are not at all computer savvy... then you may want the local one year warranty. But UPGRADING a failing computer is not the best plan in this day and age.

New System, full one year warranty, slave the old drive and get the data.

Should work if they didn't screw it up!

I bought a brand new motherboard off ebay of the same type/model that was in the computer. I am just going to have the motherboard replaced along with the hard drive. That should solve the issues. I don't have $600 or $900 available right now. I am crossing my fingers....................
