Need help with my new 590

Hello everyone.

I bought very recently a brand new 590 Mariner and haven't had a chance to shoot it yet...I was trying to field strip\disassemble it as per the manual but I can't unscrew the magazine cap (trying counterclockwise of course)...I've moved the forend to different positions as per the manual to show the bolt through the ejector port but no dice...it wont budge...

Any suggestions? I don't want to damage by taking pliers to it...

Try wrapping a rag around the cap and try unscrewing it that way(gently with pliers if need be)take your time and go easy.

Try a rag. I would not use pliers. I would go to a strap wrench before I did pliers.
