Design Of Pre-Ban vs. Post Ban & Calf. Laws

Are there any design changes to the lower receiver between pre-AWB (clinton), during the AWB, and/or post AWB?

As I understand, California requires all AR-15's post-AWB, to require a tool to remove the magazine. The bullet tip of the cartridge is considered a tool. Correct?

In California:

Can pre-AWB AR-15s (button magazine release) currently be owned?


Can pre-AWB AR-15s (button magazine release) currently be sold owner-to-owner? Or through FFL?

Is there a capacity limit on pre-AWB or post-AWB?

I do not sell weapons in Ca, the laws change too much for me to keep up and I get different answers from different people in the justice dept because of the WAY they understand the laws.
