Springfield 1911's good price

Just saw that Centerfire Systems has their Springfield 1911's priced pretty nice right now.

I'm thinking that I'll grab one of the EMPs if they still have them on Friday. (Please buy them all so that I won't) :supergrin:

Good gun, just not for me.

I'd only ever be remotely interested in the 9mm version though. I'm not a big 40s&w guy.

that's a great deal on the EMP 40. I do like the EMP 9 better than the 40 cal.

THe EMP is a good gun, though i'm not a fan of the .40S&W round. Stopped by to talk with rsxr22 at the shop the other day and one of the guys in the shop had a .40 EMP. He didn't like it because it was a handful to shoot. I like the EMP 9, it's a good balance between size and accuracy. it's skinnier than the G26, and is as tall when you add a pinky extension to the G26 mag. as for capacity, you are only down a round.

I'm kinda new to your discussion group but thought I could add a bit about the EMP 9. It's MUCH nicer shooting than the 40. Fast, much more accurate than I would have thought and mine has been totally reliable. Pretty much disappears in a Crossbreed Supertuck. I've been thru a bunch of IDPA runs and been very pleasantly surprised...as have others.
As I'm sure you all know, the same holster also works for other 1911s.

Yeah, since its not a 1911, I guess I'm not really doing anything I said I wouldn't. ;)

The frame is not that of a 1911, as it has smaller dimensions.

I want to get an EMP in 9mm for myself, but like Quack said, the .40 is ridiculously violent as far as recoil goes. I am in no way a sissy when it comes to recoil, but the darn thing was un-manageable

I'm not too concerned with recoil as I currently carry a PM40/CW40 hybrid and don't have any problems with it.
