mounting a light

I am wanting to mount a light on the 870 HD gun. I have seen the forend with the rails on them tri and single. or would it be better to go with a clamp on style like on the barrel or mag extention.

I had a caa forend with a rail on my 870 and mounted a light the same way I have it on my AR, but after shooting it I realized I didnt like it at all. Since then I've switched to a magazine tube mount with a tape switch on the forend. It's a temporary fix though, I'd eventually like to have a surefire forend on there even though its about 3/4 of the price I paid for my 870. If you have cash and want the best I'd go with the surefire forend.
