Congratulations on a nice weapon. I've been thinking about a Baer...over and over. Can't seem to pull the pun there.
How much did you pay, if you don't mind saying?

Very nice!!

i got it for 1325 and picked it up FTF so maybe it wasnt a steal-deal but at least i didnt have to wait. the fit and lockup is as tight as you would expect a baer to be... but its broken in and smoooooth.

id prefer it to not have the FCS but im ok with them. baers serrations are the absolute best imho. the 30lpi serrations arent as ugly as the wider ones on the front of a gun. im one of those people that if ordering a gun would order them without, but isnt horrified or disgusted by them enough to prevent me from buying a gun that has them.

another thing im surprised about is that i think i may actually like the skinny grips.
ive got big mitts and never cared to try thin grips. even the semi-thin grips that came on my monolith werent great to me. but IWB these grips really do slim the thing up, and i dont find the grip offensive.

im going to give them a try.

Nice score!!

Nothing wrong with the FCS on a TRS. They are A.O.K with me. FLGR? Not so much........

Sweet 1911.Congrats.

very nice deal! Baer FCS are rather nice compare to others. I would buy it in a heartbeat. at that price, it puts the Springfield TRP to shame.

Nice looking 1911, just something about a nice 1911.

10-27-2010, 20:09
thanks folks.

in most lighting conditions the frame/slide bluing looks more uniform.
but if you get it at the right angle you can see how it appears in this pic.
ive seen numerous other baers like this and i really like it.
back in the day i thought it was kind of... i dunno 'not-up-to-par'??
but now i just think of it as one of those baer things that ive grown to love.

here it is with its big sister:

wearing a set of larryd's black warthogs AKA the 'little black dress' of the 1911 world. i think that grip works on any gun but fwiw i do like the stock stocks better on it than the black warthogs.

i may try to find another thin grip thats more grippy but for now im leaving the stock TR wood grips on it.

shot another 200 through it today. i lub it.

Very classy. Congrats.

I like the thin grips for carry, too.

I really like how this pic shows similar guns with/without FCS (to dredge up another recent thread).

I definitely like the looks *without* better.

i cant get over how much i think i like the thin grips.

i never would have tried them. i dont think i would prefer them for shooting, but i shoot well with them and they make a bigger difference IWB than i thought they would.
