I will be picking up my first 1911 on Monday, I can't wait. Its a rock island armory standard 5" barrel Gi style. I'll post some pics of when I get it.

They are good guns. It should introduce you well to the 1911.

Shoot the snot out of it, then see if you "need" anything else.

I was seeing them for $399.00 at the last Gun Show I was at in Ohio.

Glad to hear.

Armscor builds a solid gun. I own several (one under the Rock Island name) and all have been fantastic guns at terrific prices.

Besides my opinion, you'll hear positive remarks from many of the regulars on this forum.

I'm allergic to "left". LOL.

BTW jrs93accord I'm curious. How close is that RIA compact, or Officers, to the original specs of the Colt ? I've had my eye on one for a while now, just havn't been sure about parts interchangeability and holsters.
