Hold your head a little higher, stand a little straighter, speak with authority and pride and pass on the concept of 'others before self' to your children and grandchildren.

Although this is the day set aside to recognize you and your sacrifices for our great nation it is something that should be remembered and acknowledged everyday as part of the debt we all owe to those who came before us.

No matter the uniform you wore or the time you served you you helped insure that others had, and continue to have the opportunities to live free and keep the American Dream alive.

Here's to a job well done and sacrifices that are greatly appreciated... good on you all.

HAPPY VETERANS DAY!

The worst I faced in the army was lack of sleep and sunburn. Then I see a 62 year old in combat! WOW!
A few simple words seems like such an inadequate way to recognize the debt that we all owe those of you who put your lives on hold and risk everything for our country.
Thank you and may god bless you and yours.

Thank you to all the veterans who have made sacrifices so that I can live such a cushy life with my wife and family. I'm only 24 and haven't given up on the idea of joining the military, but as I sort out where my life'll end up and you soldiers protect it, I can only say THANK YOU endlessly!

My 2nd enlistment was as an OS2 on USS Reasoner (FF-1063) '85-'89, and is the Ship in my avatar. Gotta love those little Knox class frigates. The Reasoner was sold to Turkey, I would rather have seen her scuttled or melted down for razor blades.
The Reasoner also suffered the indignation of having the music video 'In the Navy' by the Village People filmed on board.
