All great groups need a theme song. I suggest that we start looking for a GTR theme song. You old timers dust off your records and 8 Tracks. I'm sure we can all agree on one soon enough :whistling:
May I suggest Cracker's 'Can I take my gun up to Heaven'

Lynyrd Skynyrd:
"Gimme back my Bullets"

Fail, a there is nothing new or interesting about a garage band singing about the male organ,
Lynyrd Skynyrd:
"Gimme back my Bullets"
Fail. All skynyrd is fail. lynyyrd skynrd bent over backwards to help elect jimmah cahtah
I'm going to work on it. First we have to narrow things down a bit. All the Southern Rock/Country stuff about whiskey and guns is too predictable, passe'.
It must be Soul. Think Isley Brothers, Curtis Mayfield, something rightious like that. No decision can be made until Rusty gets here.

It would seem that this fits perfectly with Wisky and all the newbs... they can identify with the graceful, fluid motions on a level consistent with their machismo. :whistling:

Right Jack, and that video is close to 30 years old, which doesn't rule you out as being the guy with the aviator helmet on.

I don't base my like/dislike of musical groups off of their political leanings.
Fail? Sweet Home Alabama? Freebird? Nothing but classics.
The only Fail here would be you.

Bully for you, enjoy your harry belafonte and barbara streisand records:wavey:

Yes FAIL I got tired of their played out wannabe populist medicocre music when every 12 yo on my street could play their music better than they could. Try some Elvin Bishop or Allman's or either of the Winter brothers or Stevie Ray Vaughn for something that still sounds fresh 30 years later.

What do they have to do with it? I didn't mention them, don't care for them. We were talking about 'a' band, that you seemed to sneer at just because of some politicking they did 30 years ago? There were a lot of people that gave the Dixie Chicks a hard time because of some political things they said. Hey... I don't like Obama, but if a band whose music I liked was Obama's campaign manager... guess what, I'd still listen to them. I can separate my appreciation of someones artistry from their political leanings. Whatever.

Anybody can get tired of hearing the same song over and over and over again. No doubt. The two songs I mention get played alot because *they are popular*. People like them. Yes, if you hear them alot, they get old, but there is *no doubt* they are classics of history.
How's this.... Kid Rock sampled Sweet Home Alabama in his song "All Summer Long" in 2009. If it's good enough for a pretty hip dude like him, it's good enough for me.
For the other folks you mention, I listen to them as well... at least the Allman's and SRV. Great artists. Doesn't mean Lynyrd Skynyrd sucked.
Not sure who pissed in your Corn Flakes this morning, but your attitude has been really pissy this whole thread.

He won't like Kid Rock either. More then likely. He isn't very right wing in some ways.
I personally could care less. It's sad when you can't tollerate other peoples differences and uniqueness. Very sad.
How about Mr Saturday Night Special? Libtards with a pickup truck are libtards.
Do you really listen to the Dixie Chicks? That explains why you like Skynyrd. 38 Special Rocks too man:rofl:

Perry Como? Hey, I like him... he was my father's uncle's barber for a while.
(Something by Dean Martin would be nice too.)

That Sir......... is brilliant. Well done.
The ability of GTR posters to crowbar unrelated items into threads and bust balls with them at the same time is one reason why I love this place so much.

You're absolutely correct, that song is totally appropriate... seeing as how you're a couple of clowns.
And I don't hide behind sofas... wussies.

How about the Gilligans Island theme? ;)
Just sit right back and you'll hear a tale,
A tale of an old mans glee
That started when high speed Internet
Hit 30,000ft, Hit 30,000ft
GioaJack was a crazy man
Of that we were all sure
C4W volunteered to drive into the hills
For a 3hr tour, a 3hr tour.
The weather started getting rough
and C4W's truck did slide
If not for the courage of the Butler
He surely would have died... He surely would have died
So C4W went to Jacks bench that was mounted with Two LNLs,
And a 550b
A casting pot, with lead stench
A Rock-chucker
A Forrester and SDB
Here on Jacks Reloading Bench.
So C4W was concerned at this stuff indoors
As Lung cancer he did not dig
Jack said not to worry with his oxygen in tow.
Then he fired up a cig... He Fired up a Cig
So C4W started to smelt
all that lead with Glee
It wasn't until he left
that he could not breathe, that he could not breathe.
So join us here each day my friends
You'll see this character post
Even as old as he is, he knows where his friends are
Right Here on GTR....

Jack,
You can tell these guys until you're blue in the face, and they still won't take clowns seriously. They haven't seen what we've seen. They take them lightly at their own peril.

That was a very nice way to wake up, I can think of a better way but in lieu of that your song ranks a very high second place. I am both humbled and very appreciative. I wish I could write with such an imaginative mind.
BUT DON'T THINK FOR ONE DAMN MINUTE I'M NOT GONNA COME UP THERE AND KILL YA... SLOW.
I wish you a most pleasant and enjoyable Sunday. :whistling:
