Unexpected slide release

I am relatively new to the Glock world and have a question as to the functioning of my newly purchased (but used) Glock 19.

Upon inserting a new, fully loaded magazine I slam it in fairly aggressively and the slide releases and chambers the round. Is this by design or do I have a fault in the pistol that needs correcting?

I have not noticed this in my Glock 33.

This is an asset if you ask me!
If you don’t want this to happen you can replace the slide stop with a new one or maybe you need the arresting notch re-cut.
