Went to my local gunshop yesterday to order a new .308 bull barreled AR but the owner, Very nice honest guy, Told me to wait till Jan since republicans took the house he said AR's should go down at least $100. I don't see this happening so i wanted some opinions. worth a shot to wait or no?

I don't see AR prices dropping further than where they are now. In fact, they might just be going up a little, as the US$ continues to weaken. JMHO.

I can't see them getting any cheaper. Colt's for $1200, DD's for $1179, Spikes for $8oo, etc. They aren't going to go down much further. Everyone geared up for when Obama got elected frenzy and theres a ton of inventory out there.

I also do not see them getting much cheaper than they are now, and later if not sooner they will go up again, so IMO buy now.

Don't gamble on a price drop. I think they're about as cheap as they are gonna get. Inflation is just around the corner as the $$$ drops in value. Takes more $$$ to buy stuff and it's only going to get worse. The gubmint is banking on it.

What Sarge said. With the govt printing billions of new dollars, the price on many commodities has already risen. Fe is going up, Al is going up, Pb is going up. The dollar is going down. Buy now.

I think prices have stabilized since Obama won. Man they really sky rocketed there for a minute! Then dropped. I dont think they will get any lower since demand for firearms usually goes up in bad times and times are still getting worse. Throw in the repercussions related to any tin foil hat trends (false or real) and prices for high demand items will go up.

I agree with the gents above. Buy now.

I'm still waiting for gas prices to go down like they used to. Doubt anything will either.

I don't know if the prices in new ARs will drop, but there are some darn good deals on barely used ones out there. I think this may continue, and perhaps even fall further as the economy continues to sputter, and people need cash for the holidays and such.

Yeah, I agree with the crew. Prices have already dropped. May as well buy now while the US dollar is still worth something.

buy now because you never know what the future holds and i doubt prices will drop another hundred by january. prices for AR's now are lower than they were prior to nobama winning back in Nov 08. i just bought a LNIB Colt 6920 w/quad rail, magpul pistol grip and magpul collaspable stock for $850. NIB 6920's are selling for as little as 1100 in my neck of the woods and stag, bushmaster, RRA AR's can be had NIB for 800. CDNN had NIB SW M&P15's for 599 not to long ago.

Prices have adjusted and corrected themselves since the 2008 buying frenzy. They will continue to rise as they always have but at a normal rate.

Kinda makes you wish the gubbmint had just left the housing market alone and let the same thing happen.

Like everyone said "Biy now". Prices have bottomed out already.
