Does the TRP have a lock (like S&W wheel guns)? AND any one have ball park what Hard Chroming a gun would cost?

Yes, it has a lock in the MSH.

the lock can be defeated by replacing the MS cap, MS and adding a cap retaining pin.

never heard of the ILS failing/activating accidentally.
