While cleaning my new Les Baer getting ready to go to the range, I noticed the inside of the slide lock and wondered if it's supposed to look like this. Sort of sticks out and comes to a point at the rear, but looks like it has been filed down towards the frame so hopefully will not affect function.

Normal?

Sorry to report that the slide stop on mine looks a bit different than the pic. The one in the pic looks like the tip or end has been broken off--not so on mine which has a continuous edge that engages the mag follower.
Could be just a difference in configuration, or an issue. Guess if yours works, it must be OK.

They probably broke the point off to keep bullets from contacting it to prevent premature slide locks. My Colt is like that.

Probably. That's what happens when you buy a semi custom gun. The slide stop is fit to the gun. The point that you are referring to is probably smooth and polished. If it is sharp and jagged, you should be concerned. If not, shoot away.
