View Full Version : Berryhill Custom AFP is done!!
I got an email from Dave tonight with some pictures of my just completed Advanced Fighting Pistol. It looks pretty nice. I have never seen Dave's work firsthand, but I have read a lot of postive feedback on his work. This build is done on a Caspian frame and Slide. He also did a rounded butt and flush cut slide stop. I am liking what I am seeing so far. What do you guys think?
Here are the specs:
- Caspian slide and frame
- Berryhill Ultimate Ultimate Commander hammer, sear and disconnector
- 4 lb. trigger job
- Medium solid match trigger with permanent overtravel stop
- 10-8 rear sight
- Dovetail tritium front sight with a white ring around the tritium
- Stainless steel match barrel.
- Stainless steel EGW thick barrel bushing with beveled edge, fit finger tight to the slide
- Muzzle cut flush with bushing and crowned
- Berryhill forged slide stop
- Tuned for reliability with a bar stock extractor and oversized firing pin stop
- Wilson Bullet Proof thumb safety.
- S&A beavertail grip safety
- Scallops on front strap with high grip cut under trigger guard
- Flat steel mainspring housing with scallops and round butt
- Lowered and flared ejection port
- Bar stock ejector and plunger tube
- EGW hardened pin set
- Wolf 16 lb recoil spring and heavy duty firing pin spring
- Micarta grips
- Heavy chamfer on external edges while maintaining the original lines
- Matte blue with the sides of the slide polished

Spectacular bro. I really like the contrast of the black frame & slide against a stainless barrel & trigger. Looks really classy!

I think I got on the list around this time last year. I was going to send him a SA Mil-Spec for a base gun, but he was already working on this pistol and it was available. We discussed some changes that could still be made and a few weeks later, it is done. I think he is backed up about 6 months right now....

I'm not really sure. He is going to re-finish my Heritage and Guardian , then ship them all back to me at the same time.
I think the pistol is just about perfect. I don't much care for the pink backdrop though, it's not befitting a fighting gun.

It looks awesome I'm curious to know how this gun compares to some of your other semi customs in a similar price range.

Ask Dave's wife. She personally tests all of his customer's semi-customs.

Nice looking gun. Interesting front strap treatment. It looks like the texturing gets slightly more aggressive towards the center.
Build specs added to original post.

That is funny.
It would only have been better had he said that it was originally a white shop towel and he just couldn't get all the blood out of it after his last dust-up.
