View Full Version : Excel column headers
I did this once, but have since forgotten. How do you keep the column headings on top, visible when you scroll down the columns ?
This time I'll write it down, I promise.
Assuming the column headers are in row #1, you'll want to highlight row 2 (the one below the one with the headers) and hit 'freeze panes'. In 2003 this is an option under the "window' tab at the top of the spreadsheet or in 2007 I think it's under the "view" tab.
I don't have Excel on this computer, just OpenOffice, but on the left if you click the Row number where your headings are (or maybe the one below; fiddle with it), it should highlight that whole row.
Then under Data I believe there's a "Freeze Cells" option. Once you freeze them, they won't scroll with the rest of the data below.
But this is off the top of my head, so you may have to check the sub menus.
