I may have to rethink the grips on my 1911. I saw a black 1911 with Ivory grip panels, and it freakin looked awesome:wow::faint:

But think of the double expense Okie. Then you have to buy two sets of grips so your knife still matches. :whistling:

I've seen a couple of black 1911s with ivory grips, they are my favorite combination!

To be honest, I thought this thread was going to be about a gun that needed some deburring work! :whistling:

Here's my Valor with it's flat bottomed Elephant Ivories. Kind of a Tuxedo effect.

Hey Okie, hit up this guy. He worked over my holster, and does some scrimshaw work too. Steve Brooks. www.thecowshide.com (http://www.thecowshide.com)

When I was in his shop last week, he had a bunch of 1911 grips that he had done. Nice!

I like the ivory look, but I think I would spend too much time cleaning off the crap from my grubby paws.

I just made a deal on some flat bottomed brown tiger striped VZ' Alien's for my Eclipse Pro II. I think the brown and stainless will look pretty sharp along with the mat black outlines.

That may be the sharpest 1911 I've seen.

I've always like the classic look. Light gun = dark grips, dark gun = light grips. Nothing like ivory on blue steel or buffalo horn or ebony on SS.

French walnut of course goes with everything since it neither dark nor light but it's own shade of perfection. :)

I know it's a matter of taste but I kind like Ivory on Hard Chrome...

I did however finally give in to the more conventional Black on HC...
