Received my EMP 9mm G10 yesterday, two days before expected - good start!

Fit and finish are outstanding, lockup is very tight. During field strip last night I found very confusing to use the take down tool, and end up finding a good and easy way to do without it. I then ran a clean patch through the barrel, one with oil, and another clean to remove the excess. Wiped off the excess oil that was on the slide and the frame. Applied TW-25b on the frame rails, barrel lugs, and disconnector lug. Oil on slide rails and mixed a drop with grease on barrel lug, re-assembled, loaded all three magazines to work the springs overnight.

This morning took it to the range with 150 rounds 115gr FMJ Federal ammo. Fired every single round without a single failure of anykind.

I am very very very pleased with the gun, highly recommend. It is very light with a fully loaded mag, accurate, fun to shoot.

Next week I will take it to the range with SD ammo for final test before carrying it.

The EMP is on the top of my next to get list. These EMP threads are making it very hard to resist. Good thing this thread doesn't have pics. :nailbiting::nailbiting:

What's the weight with full mag?

26oz (EMP w/ empty mag) + the weight of 10 (9+1) rounds

Did I mention how light it is? It feels lighter than my G26, accuracy and ergonomics hands down better (it is a 1911 after all).

I will post some pictures soon!

or 8 + 1 with a Logman modded flush fit mag.

Congrats OP on your EMP 9. I love mine too. I've got Davidson 4x4 grips with Wilson hex head stainless grip screws on mine.

how long did you have to wait to get it? every dealer around me says it will be sometime next year before they can get their hands on them...

Two days. I bought it on Wednesday from GB, Thursday was Thanksgiving Holiday (no mail), received it Friday. Paid $1075 NIB, the only regret I have is not buying one earlier!

well seeing that the Range Officer was just made/released, the production schedule might be a while until they get back to the EMP's.

There is a dealer here in the Seattle area that has 2 or 3 LNIB ones in the case. Send me a PM if you want the name and number. Maybe you could call them and work out a good deal.

I dealer here in Miami has had one sitting on their shelf for about a month. $950. Very surprised it has not been taken. Wish i had the money. It is my next purchase.

I tried to talk a local dealer down yesterday from $1,100 to $1k. and they wouldn't budge. I've seen them for $999 at gun shows, so I'll wait. I wish I could find one for $950, I'd buy it today.

Eh...I've been itching for one for a while now. But seeing as I still need my CCW and a belt, I have time to wait for the right price. Plus I don't shoot as much in the winter time as I would like, and the holidays are upon us (ie. spending more money).

So I'll be patient...maybe. It's just that the VMII looks so lonely... :tongueout:

For all I have seen there are lots of .40SW around $1000 or less, but the 9mm are $1050+ and $900+ for used. I wish I could find a NIB 9mm for $980 delivered to my FFL!

Yea I'll probably end up just giving in if I can't find one cheaper before spring time. Like I said I still need my ccw and a belt, so I'm not particularly in any hurry, other than I'm driving myself crazy.

Nope. Went in last Monday. Turned in my application, got fingerprinted, and was told I would get it in the mail from a week - 45 days.

Well...I shot it (before I ever shot a 1911), and I liked it, but I felt like it had a lot of muzzle flip (for me at least) and it was bigger than I was hoping for. Overall it felt like an extremely nice pistol, but for ~$800 it was expensive as well.

Fast forward a bit, I shot my buddies SA loaded and was hooked on 1911's, I shot it amazingly well, so I've wanted one since then. I originally was going to wait and get a Kobra Carry for my first 1911, but decided against it because I don't think I could carry a commander, being very slim and small. And of course, the cost...so I decided I wanted a 3" after fondling some...and I like the EMP.

Yeah, I'm not a big fan of the SK. I like the fit of my P2000 much better and it carries really well too.

As much as I like the Emp I just can't see myself paying that much for a 9mm, or any 1911 in 9mm. I know I know cheaper to shoot. I had a Springfield Loaded in 9mm and sold it after a month. It was a pleasure to shoot but in the end it was a 9mm 1911.

Of course I do. Didn't you know with the .45 I don't even have to hit you. If it passes real close to you it will knock a limb off while you fly back about 20 ft. Try doing that with your measly little 9mm. :tongueout:

Seriously I don't like the 9mm in the 1911 platform. I would rather have it in a polymer gun.

I watched The Expendables last night. Sly must have been using a .45 because EVERY time he pulled the trigger, someone died.

remove the slide, compress the recoil assembly a little, remove the assembly, remove the reverse bushing.

That is sooo much easier than using the tool.
