Deifference 870 Tactics vs 870 Police tactical?

I haven't seen an 870 police tactical in a store. I've had 2 gun shops look up 870 tacticals and they have all been just 870 tacticals that come with a standard stock, knoxx AR style, knoxx folding stock.

What is different about the 870 police and how much more is it? Is it worth it to try to find a police model?

I want to use this for possible skeet, deer hunting, and home defense. HD would be it's primary purpose as I already have a mossberg 500 which will work find for the other things, but I want a backup :)

If it is more durable how much more durable and are they things that are easily change or upgraded on the regular tacticals?

I think the Police may be chambered to take 3" magnums? I am not sure though.

I looked for 5 minutes and couldn't find any serious list of all the different models of 870 with the differences. Other than cosmetics, the difference is the shell capability (magnum 3'' or 3.5'')

There is only one 870 and they only differ by finish and furniture and one or two small parts.

You get a parkerizied finish with the P model, a matte finish with the Express and a blued finish with the Wingmaster.

You will pay $150 to $200 more for the Police Model and I can not see where it will benifit you in any way considering what you are wanting an 870 for. You need would be better served getting an 870 Express model with the 26" barrel for sport use and then get an 18.5" barrel for Home Defence use.

Get the weapon now and you get a $30 rebate from Remington.
