Glock 36 self defense ammo

Mr. Ayoob,

I recently bought a Glock 36 in 45 ACP for daily concealed carry. I live in the Southeastern US so thick clothing might be encountered in the winter. What's the best self defense ammunition for such a short barrel? Your expert opinion is greatly appreciated!
