Tab on G-36 Mag wont let rounds out.

I have a 10 year old G-36 (not sure if the age matters) there is a small tab on top of the mag (I have 3 mags). I have learned that this is supposed to help the round start up the ramp on the barrel. The problem I had was with every hollow point I used this tab would hold the round back or cause it to jam in the barrel. I got fed up and filed the tab on one of the mags (a very small amount) but that just caused the round to not lift high enough to get in the barrel. I used about 10 different factory loads and they all did it (some worse than others).
BTW I never had any issues with FMJ's.

good luck; no help here with hollow point information. 1000s or rounds in FMJ, TMJ, LRN with no issues.

wadcutters: depending on profile, some work flawlessly, others are prone to feeding issues, so I stay away from the profiles that don't work.

will be interesting to see the comments on this thread. my one thought: are your mags also 10 years old. I wonder if a new mag would function with the bullet profile? I'm not sure how much the G36 mags have changed over the last 10 years.
