View Full Version : S&W 1911s
thinking of getting a commander sized 1911 and the S&W looks like it would fit the bill. i just wanted to know if there were any issues i should be aware of.
thank you
S&W 1911s have a very good reputation.
Both of mine have been great as well.
Just remember they do have an external extractor, in case that bothers you.
S&W definitely makes a good 1911. I think there is better in the price range, but there definitely a competitior
I have a 108284 and a Doug Koenig Performance Center. Both have been flawless shooters.

I had SS basic 1911 few years back and it was a great shooter with 0 problems out of the box, I would love to have a Commander PD.
I love my 1911pd 3k rounds no issues.
thank you for the responses.
I'm on my second 108284 (had to sell the first to make a truck payment). Both have been 100% reliable. and Gold Cup accurate, at least. I love them!!

All S&W 1911's have a loose trigger that moves side to side if that bothers you.

Neither of my S&W 1911 guns have a loose trigger. They are the best of the best and this comes from one that owns a few dozen guns. I stake my life on a S&W 1911 daily. I will never carry a Glock or S&W revolver again although I will shoot them at a range of let others shoot them that are with me.
I do not regret a dime of the price I paid for my S&W 1911 guns.
