Held one of these today in a local shop but can somebody explain the logic behind the "reverse" safety? :dunno:

My Ranger II has a standard single sided safety. There is a Ranger III that has a SFS safety that cocks the hammer when you flip the safety off. Is that what you were looking at?

I was pretty sure the slide said Ranger II but yes that is what I am referring to. How do you like yours?

Mine is in 9mm and I currently have a Love/Hate relationship with it.

I love the fit, finish, quality, feel... just about everything on this pistol is amazing!

I hate that when the bullets don't go through the same hole, it is my fault!

If I had a pistol that well built I would probably feel the same way
Is it just a range pistol for you or do you use it for carry/competition? I am very intrigued by the hammer cocking safety

Mine has the standard safety. I am a one pistol guy and this is my full time carry, range and IPSC pistol. When I first got the pistol at Dawson Precision, I had them install the thinnest fiber optic front sight they had. The only other thing I am going to do is to have a coating applied. More than likely it will be Hardhat.

I will try to get some up later tonight. I am rocking a little one to sleep right now. Gotta love the IPhone.

Glock2740, im trying to figure out if there is any part of it that makes it better to use or if it is merely just another feature to use?

It's for people who don't want to carry cocked and locked.

I see the logic behind it, but i dont think that is a product i would ever be interested in. I like single side safeties on everything besides guns i use in competition.

I have a pair of Ranger IIs, one in .45ACP and one in 9mm. They are fantastic pistols as mentioned above. I don't think I would like the safety system that cocks on release, mainly because I like that my 1911s all operate the same way and it's what I am used to using.

Thanks. Here are the STIs, although the Escort wears different grips now.

Nice! What caliber is the Escort in and how do you like it?

Mine is in .45ACP. I like it a lot, although I carry the Shadow more because I like the Heine straight 8 night sights and matte black finish for CCW. All four of my STIs have been great shooters and extremely reliable right from the start.

Here's a couple more pics of the Escort. The grips were a custom request made by Esmeralda.
