I'm in the market for a Saiga 12 but I can't decide which barrel to get. I held a 19" barrel and it felt pretty good. I'm wondering if I'd be better off with the 22" instead of 19". This won't be used as a HD gun. I already have something else for that. This will mainly be used for target shooting and maybe 3 gun competions down the road.

19" or 22"?

I'm partial to the 19" myself. I've got a Saiga 20 and just sold my Saiga 410. I really want a 12 next but already have a Remington 870. My 20 is my primary deer gun.

I ended up getting the 19". I don't think I'll be hunting with mine. I'm pissed though because my magazines won't fit properly. Guess I got to file them down or something.

The Russian mags don't fit? That would be odd. I've had aftermarket mags not fit well but I've never had a problem with the OEM mags.
I went with the 19". I would like to get it cut to about 8" but I don't want to part with the coin to do it right now.

I have a 19" SAIGA 12. If you are using yours for target shooting fun and/or 3 gun competition, you would be better served with the slightly longer barrel. If you're able to handle both, see which feels best in your hands.

I actually got it to fit. I guess I wasn't pushing hard enough at first.

Insert the mags a little forcefully a couple of times and they're start to fit easier.
