Stock sights?

I meant the build pictured, actually. It looks like they left them stock.
Your idea sounds good.
yep, his are stock sights.
They did a decent job with the R1, but Im sure yours will be even better. Not sure why they blasted then park'd though? Seems like an extra, unnecessary step. I thought GK could be applied after blasting. You could sell me the EMP to fund the build!

if you'd use the same 3 hole trigger as him, you'd have a great looking gun. :)

i was thinking about going against my usual and using the trigger from my DW Guardian on this one

No matter which trigger you use Quack, it's gonna be a really nice gun and the best R1 out there.

Smart ass! I was trying to give you a compliment, and I get sarcasm:steamed:
Who did the work on that?
The guy did it at home.

Yes it will. He does 'em right. :)
you should do it with some Ducati Red accents...
can you tell which grip safety was fit at home and which one was done by gun manufacturer? :whistling:

You can clearly tell the shiny one was fit by a master pistolsmith. Jeez, it's pretty obvious.

who cares what the GS looks like when others are distracted by all of the bling.

I can't tell any difference between the two other than one is really shiny.
Gun manufacturers and kitchen table 'smiths probably do about the same on grip safeties.:tongueout:

What's the cost of that work, parts and labor?
Thanks.
What's the cost of that work, parts and labor?
Thanks.
cost is kind of subjective. Quack's money is going to be tied up into parts if he is planning on doing it himself. If one were to have the work done, price would be dependent on who was doing the smithing
i have around $400 in parts in my shopping cart, but that's for both the TRP Champ and the R1, so probably $200 in parts depending on what i decide what i want. i have until wednesday to figure out what i want so the parts will be here by the weekend.
here's the parts i think i'm going to use for right now
NM U-Notch Rear Sight

Grip Safety, Series 80, Blue
Match Extractor, Series 80, .45 ACP

Are you using my DW TS for this build?

Are you using my DW TS for this build?
you have to use a .220" jig for the mil-spec, unless you can weld up the tangs to get the Ed Brown GS to work.
gonna use the DW TS on the TRP-C.

Forgot about that one.
TRP Champ first.... has to be this way.
Trust me.
the TRP-C is just a parts swap.

What finish are you having done on it?
going to wait until it warms up (spring), then parkerize followed by Cerakote.

Didn't know you could/would do it yourself. That's why I asked.
i really didn't do as much to it, just the grip safety, grip safety jig, thumb safety, hammer & hammer strut, sear, sight and trigger, so less than $200 in parts i already had the tools, so the only thing i picked up was some abrasive cloth.
i was going to replace the extractor, ejector and firing pin stop, but decided against it since i know i'm going to build a gun from the ground up in the next month or 2.
Didn't know you could/would do it yourself. That's why I asked.
why wouldn't/couldn't I?
knedrgr and i have painted a lot of things, so Cerakote shouldn't be that hard.

Why park then Cera?
Just blast it with 100 grit alum oxide, bake, spray, bake!

Park is a great base for any spray-on coating. It adds another layer of
protection and allows the coating a microscopically permeable base on
which to penetrate and adhere.
