My New G26.....Is This Abnormal?

Just picked up a new G26 a week ago. I have not fired the gun yet, but today disassembled the gun and noticed an odd coloration on the inside rear of the slide.....(gold in color see pictures). This is a factory applied compound. The official policy is to clean & remove it immediately. I recommend you shoot a few hundred rounds with it on. It will help lap the gun in a little faster.
