I am very jealous.

I held/field stripped a Nighthawk at my dealers one day. It was probably one of the finest firearms I have ever had in my hands.

never said that they weren't forged, just said the forged frames were from overseas and you said the one you are getting uses a Caspian frame.

Remsport frames are forged by Daewoo in S. Korea.
Caspian frames are cast.

I dont see how people say their overpriced though. I mean the Talon is $2700, the closest comparable thing from WC is the Elite which is a little under 3K.
And Im not sure what frame I am doing now. When I originally talk to the rep, he said they might be able to do the Enforcer/Predator for around the price of either of the pistols because they both retail around the same. However, he called today and said there is a noticeable diff in price because the Enforcer frame has the integrated magwell and plunger tube and the Pred's price comes from the barrel. So if I do the BD and the Enforcer frame, then this guy is going to start getting expensive. Im thinking I'd rather have the BD finish then the Frame. I dont see where the integrated parts would benefit me, but a gun that is virtually resistent to wear is a plus. I swear I have acids in my sweat glands because my pistols always wear quicker than everyone else's that i see.

BTW, if you look at the "Features" of the different NH guns, the only 4 that say it's a Forged frame is the Talon, Lady Hawk, PDP and 10mm.

The Predator has the same Specifications as the Talon.

Its a misconception that they're overpriced. I've said it many times.

Wilson is more expensive, yet popular belief is that they're less.

I don't necessarily agree, but I certainly can see your point, Quack.

I think some of their models are overpriced. I also think some Wilsons are overpriced.

I hear you Dave and, being a dealer, you would certainly know better than I.

Nighthawks prices have gone up, but just comparing base MSRPs of their comparable and most popular core models (not the specialty models, if that makes any sense), I see the following:

Nighthawk GRP - $2499
Wilson CQB - $2550

Nighthawk Talon - $2699
Wilson CQB Elite - $2950

Nighthawk Predator - $2950
Wilson Tactical Elite - $3250

I may be missing something, but these models are all very comparable in my eyes. :dunno:

I do think that Wilson is the better company overall, but Nighthawk is not far off. I'm very impressed by the models I own and those are really the only two I can go by. Dave, I know for a fact you've seen many more from both than I have.

One distinct advantage I'll give Wilson is the quality of their base finishes. I much prefer Armor Tuff over Perma Kote. That's why both of my Nighthawks are hard chromed.

Yep.

Nighthawk Predator III - $3025
Wilson Stealth - $3150

Again Nighthawk is cheaper. I don't pay a whole lot of attention to the small models, since I don't buy them, but they too seem very comparable.

All expensive guns are overpriced...until you decide you want one. Then the price suddenly makes sense.

Gdirty5
12-16-2010, 10:39
Same thing as expensive cars, to some they seem way over priced (which many are) but if you can afford it or want it, you know what you payed for. The extra features, the better build quality, and exclusivity... So nighthawk and wilson are the mercedes and BMW's of the 1911 world, sure you can get others that do the same thing for less (infiniti, lexus/DW, SA TRP) but it's not the same, and you'll still lust over the higher end....
