Sling for remington 870?

What do you all recommend for a sling for a remington 870 HD shotty?

I am going to put a BlackHawk Knoxx stock on it, if that helps any.

As others have said, the basic two-point sling is sufficient for pretty much anything that anyone will be doing.

You don't need a sling on a home defense shotgun.

You're not going to be carrying it that far and if you can sling it
where's the threat?

If it's home defense, the shotgun belongs in your hand.

A sling is just something else to get caught on doorknobs, dresser
edges and even might interfere with functioning of the weapon.

Keep it simple, it just might save your life.

I agree 100% - they just get in the way on a HD gun.

But for some darn reason they put little sling loops on my gun - so I started thinking I "need" to get a sling. :cool:

If I do - in a weak moment - see a sling on sale I will need to make sure it has quick disconnect hardware - that way I can at least take it off / on easily for the 99.99999% of the time I will not be using it. :embarassed:

Although your points are valid, a couple issues that were brought up in a training class I was once in when the same question was brought up were:
A sling will assist you in enabling to retain your weapon should you be surprised and be engaged hand to hand, the attacker attempting to disarm you. Be aware that if you choose to have a sling on your weapon to train with it as reduce the risk of the possible things that you mentioned above.
I personally don't have my weapon on a sling at home, but on the range I always train/shoot with it on. I currently have a standard two point, but am gonna go to a convertable 2-1 point.

Im thinking blackhawk universal swift sling.
I like the 3 point since you can use it as a regular sling. Or if you throw it over your head like boxer said could be very handy in retaining your weapon.

I've noticed this with the Mossberg I keep behind the closet door--got to make sure the sling is out of the way when I pick it up--I think I will ditch it--it seems to always get in the way all the time--and it is not a weapon that I would chose to carry around outside of the house in a relaxed state.
