I just installed a set of TFO Tru-glos on my USP 9mm in place of the Tru-Dots it had. Now the gun shoots about 4-5 inches high at 40-50 feet. Is this typical results after installing Tru-Glo's or is there something wrong here?

To state the obvious, if the sights are the same height as the old, they can't be the cause. With the new high visibility front sight, might you have changed your sight picture from putting the target atop the front blade to now placing the bright dot on the target?

I didn't mike the sights before installing, perhaps I should have. I guess I will be removing them and checking that as I am aligning the sight pictures just as I did the Tru-Dots before I installed the TFO's.

HK sights are set up for the 'cover up' sight picture, where the bullet strikes under the top of the front post.
Maybe the TFOs are set up for the 'center hold' sight picture.
My new USP 9mm shoots low (cover up) and I'm looking for sights that shoots higher.

You shouldn't have to remove the sights to use a caliper to measure the height above the slide.

After three outings of my USP 9 with the TFO's it still would not shoot correctly. I had to aim a good 6" low to get my POI where I wanted it. Yesterday I removed the TFO's and reinstalled my Tru-Dots and took it to the range. Now my shots are dead center again at 30 feet. I simply put my POA just above the front sight (6 O'clock position?) and the shots go home.

I'm going to contact TFO customer service next week and see what they have to say.

Make you a hell of a deal on these if you want. :)

Now my shots are dead center again at 30 feet. So, did you ever verify that the heights were different?

Both the front and rear sights were different heights from the Tru-Dots. I didn't check to see if they were the same difference though. I will ask for the specs on the sights when I get hold of customer service.
