I've always felt that getting hit by a Hornet hurts...no big deal IMHO.

I dont see why people get so bent out of shape like they actually work for or own Brown, Baer, or NH. All these semi-customs are for the most part on par with others and it comes down to the small things that make people want one from another. I used to not like Baer's and though NH's were overpriced. Since then, I have came to respect Baer's and one day will own one and have realized that the NH's are not overpriced when comparing some of their models. Also pricing is a little different then me and I wanted a model that neither Brown or Baer made anything similarly too. WC did, but was priced higher than I could do the NH w/ DiamondB for.
Today's gun's are really tailored to buyers. There is seriously a different flavor for just about anyone. I hope one day to have the opportunity to be able to own atleast one model from every semi custom company out there!

I never got the whole locking threads thing. If people want to engage in pointless debates, let them!

Yes, I was an admin at 2 gun forums previously. I do not like how that 1911 forum and The High Road locks threads all the time. I kept things running along, and did not lock many threads unless they really needed it.

I read through the thread, nothing seemed worth locking it down. Nobody was hurting anything. I was enjoying the debate. I'd love to own any NH, Brown, Baer.

As your freindly neighborhood moderator...there are a lot of reasons to lock threads, and vice-versa.

I probably lock 3 to 5 per day in General Glocking, off-topic is the most common, but some that turn personally abusive. "Soft Porn" is another reason threads can get locked, or when they become racist or discriminatory. I think there are usually 1 or 2 threads here in the GT 1911 forum that get reported each month. In most cases, there is a slight rule bending, but I'll write a note back to the reporter and usually, what I say is understood and nothing gets locked. However, the normal group here is a lot more civilized than in some other forums here on GT. Y'all can tell when something is a joke and when someone is serious. In some of the personal attack cases, I've sent a note and then there is a retraction or apology. I guess it has to do with the level of matrutiy of the various forum members.

just read the referred to thread. not sure I know anything more than I did, as I don't really know the players, so I don't know the truth from opinion. this said, it was an interesting read. I missed the point of locking it, why was it locked?

Just another reason this is the best 1911 forum out there. Thanks Mark.
