Based on the recommendations of many here, I purchased the Range Officer. It just arrived. I ended up getting it off of gunbroker, and after fees, ffl etc. it was 700 out the door. I think it is beautiful and can't wait to shoot it. I will probably hit the indoor range soon. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks again everyone for the recommendations!

Congrats, that's a good price, I paid $720.00 out the door local. I think that you are gonna really like it. Its a very clean, nice looking 1911 & its very accurate. So far mine has been 100% reliable. SA hit it out of the park with value on this one.

Great price! I picked mine up for $750. The price on the case says $829.99 though. I wonder if I can flip it?

They seem like a solid piece. I just put on some Pachmayr wrap around grips on mine and the thing is G2G.

I'm not sure when I can get out to the range with it with the Holidays coming up, but I'm antsy to.

if Springfield builds a RO in 9mm, i think they will sell like hotcakes.

You are 100% correct on that one. If the RO is a homerun....a 9mm would be a grand slam.

Congrats! If that gun was available when I got my first 1911 it would have been a tough choice. I think you did well! My only concern for you is that it's very very hard to only have one 1911, I wish you luck...

the 9mm Loaded's are already hard to find, so the RO in 9mm would be a no brainer.
I'd buy one, even though i already have a 9mm Loaded, just for the fit.

Damn... The more I sit on it, the more I am thinking an RO with a sight-swap is going to be my choice over a TRP... Glad I still have a month to decide.

Let's hear some Pachmayr love:

They're kinda homely, but they sure are comfortable:

very nice...at that price I could forgive those sights...they wouldn't be my first choice but they're certainly serviceable...if they are truly built to the level being reported on the errornet they seem to take much of the Mil-Specs bargain status away...

Nice pistol! Let us know how it shoots. I still want a 1911 of some sort, and this looks like a good candidate. Sort of like my brother's Dan Wesson without the cheerleaders and pom-poms... :whistling:

I paid $699 + tax for my SA Loaded Parkerized back in 2005. For the RO, $700 is a steal.

Congrats on the new gun. I have seen where others are really liking that model as well. I believe I see one of these in my future.
