Midway has it for $599.99

http://www.midwayusa.com/viewproduct/?productnumber=674968

per Adam Arms web page it has M4 feed ramps

I like how the whole piston system comes right out the front for maintenance

I am thinking of ordering one from Midway to build a gas piston AR-15

If you have built this upper, what lower receiver did you use? How did it all work out?

If not what striped lower would you recommend i use?

Will a DD Omega 7 work with this? I have one on my Stag model 3 and it looks like it should clear the piston

Thanks

I have an Adams Arms piston kit on a DSA ZM4 upper which I purchased built from another GTer. I put an Omega 7 rail on it (with AFG), then an LMT detachable FS and detachable carry handle, and then put it all on an LMT Defender lower w/SOPMOD. This setup works great for me! It has displayed excellent accuracy to 100m...I even won a close-combat rifle match at our local club recently using it. I have experienced NO malfunctions of any sort after 750 or so rounds though it. I am very happy with it. Fun new toy!

I never have put a RDS on it, though...it shoots so well with irons, that I hate to jinx it!

I have an AA basic mid-length upper on the way from Rainier Arms. I'll post a review as soon as it gets here and I get it mounted on the lower.

I put one on my SBR. It fouls less than the DI system, and with the pistol length gas tube, it made sense to me.

Runs 100%. I used the Sampson 4" rail, so I can't attest to the DD rail, but it should be on the list of compatible fore ends from www.adamsarms.net in the FAQ section.

with all the comparison, I am pretty sure that the AA is a very good system, but i have just ordered a stag model 8, got it for $999.00. Should be here in 2 days.

I am very impressed with e quality and fit of my model 3 Stag.

Again thanks for all the valued input

I mounted the AA mid length upper with no problems and ran about 200 flawless rounds through her. It's amazing that the bolt and carrier stay cool during a 30 round mag dump. The most noticeable thing is that the barrel is a medium contour so it's a little front heavy. I may change the stock out to an UBR to help balance this out. So far she has been boringly reliable.

I have built a system using the exact same Adams Arms upper that you mentioned. So far it has run flawless - more than 1500 rounds down the tube. I put on a Primary arms M4 clone on it and I would say it is is a good match and accuracy was there, still able to hit targets at 300 yards. I used a Spikes Tactical lower with Daniel Defense lower parts kit, changed the springs to JP 3.5#, used a VLTOR EMOD for stock and Troy sights. The DD omega 7 will fit it.

The AA Competition upper (http://www.adamsarms.net/details.asp?sku=UA-16-M-CO-556) was used in my 3-Gun rifle build. The original plan was to use an existing Armalite lower but the BCG in the Armalite is slotted, allowing it to pass over the blocks behind the fire control group.

The Adams Arms BCG is not slotted and would not function with the fairly old Armalite lower. Since Mega made the billet upper, a Mega billet lower was ordered from Ranier Arms (http://www.rainierarms.com/?page=shop/detail&product_id=1539). Using a DPMS lower parts kit and Magpul ACS stock, the build was completed.

Very happy with the results. Will try and get pics of the completed rifle up later.
