View Full Version : Changing Barrels Glock 31 to 40S&W
I read on a police review site that you can purchase a Glock in 357SIG and insert a 40S&W barrel to save on practice ammo, has anyone done this and has it worked out okay? New to Glocking and the forum!!!:wavey: I like the thought of having two guns for (almost) the price of one!!
Yes this is a common conversion. All you need is the barrel swap but we recommend you also use the correct magazine. This will help you avoid accidently shooting the wrong ammo out of the wrong barrel. (Cheap insurance)
I will list the 40 model first followed by the 357 model. 22/31, 23/32, 27/33.
BTW: LWD offers 9mm conversions for these same pistols. Just drop in the conversion barrel and use the correct 9mm magazine and you are good to go.

JR: I was planning on purchasing the Glock 31 and adding the 40S&W barrela; are you saying that if i purchase the 22 i can go up(357) and down(9mm)!! I thought buying the higher velocity gun(31) might be safer?
The only difference between the G22 and G31 is the barrel & magazine.
You can convert either just as easy as the other. No difference.
JR; Many thanks, you' been a great help!!
