Outlook & Exchange certificate issues

Hi guys.

One of my clients just got a brand new Dell Latitude laptop, Win7 Pro 64-bit.

They are running Windows Server 2008 and Exchange 2007.

When the client is out of the office, connects to the VPN and then tries to open outlook, he usually gets this error:

"There is a problem with the proxy server's security certificate. The name on the security certificate is invalid or does not match the name of the target site mail.userdomain.com.

Outlook is unable to connect to the proxy server. (Error Code 10)"


Any ideas, please?

Been a while since I have used Server 2008, but it seems to me that it's tweeked down pretty hard security wise... and Exchange 2007 on a notebook? Okay... :whistling:

Where is the proxy? I am guessing it's local and probably doesn't need to be there... and the certivicate is probably not correct on the local system.

That is my official *GUESS*... and I can't wait to see if I win the prize! Would be a miracle though...

Well, that's the thing is they aren't using a proxy server.

In any case, my tech created a new certificate on the server and that seems to have cleared up the issue though.
