Wow you definitely ran that SA good!! You got all that wear owning that thing a little over a year? What else do you use it for? Automotive repair and Landscaping!!! JK

I agree on the Black-T finish, it is ok at best but there are much better applications. I would rather have their AK on it then B-T. I would either send it to them for some AK or seeing how hard you are on guns, give IonBond a call and check into where you can get some Diamond Black applied!! Atleast the rest of your 1911's magwells wont look like that, your probably a master on the reloads now!

I was going to right some smart ass comment buy instead I'ld like to thank you, quack, bac, and others who take the time to write these reviews. They're helpful to someone who has limited funds to buy a 1911. Quack even let's me shoot his.

I no longer have a budget for any high $ pistols, at least until I turn 40.

Thanks for a frank review of a high dollar pistol that has actually been shot.
I still want one :)

Have you had any issues with 230gr rounds or just the 200?

98% of issues have been with the 200gr. I don't like 200's, I got a really good deal on them at them time. Had I known this pistol wouldn't feed them, I would have passed.

My other 1911's don't seem to mind though :dunno:

I've tested a small batch of Berry 230gr and had a few hangup, which makes me think this pistol hates plated ammo. I had either Federal red box that Wally World sells or WWB give me 1 or 2 failures to feed.

I'm switching to Zero FMJ's, hopefully they'll work fine in this one.

Try Precision. I have been using their stuff for years. Zero makes a good product as well, I go with the PD's because they offer better pricing.

Wow you and your guns are extremely close! Does your Guardian and EMP get the same kind of lovin? Or do you like the hotdog down a hallway type deal?

I agree, I think I've seen one.

The only concern would be voiding the warranty.

I would be concerned about the warranty seeing it looks like one of your lower lugs is going to break off at some point. :faint:

Sounds and looks like the OP's SA Pro needs to take a trip to Metaloy for a hardchrome job. If you're gonna be rough on one, it's hard to go wrong with hardchrome. And I can guarantee that SA will not void the warranty for a Metaloy hardchrome job.

Yeah, I am concerned about it. I sent them pics too, but they told me it was "normal" wear.

I'm not shelling out the $ to get it fixed now, when it goes, they'll get the bill.

My apologies, I forgot to add nice write up and pics. The finish wear and nicks on the lugs surprises me to say the least. Very possible the lighting makes them both out to be more than they are though.

I'd be sad about a failure to handle 200 gr. LSWC. I had to spend a little time adjusting the crimp and OAL, but one load feeds and functions well in all of my 1911s.

The "cruder" and least modified guns were not problematic in that regard. Shouldn't have to be rocketscience to work out though.

Your review was pretty good and the photos were a plus.
I got a lot of negative vibes from you on this gun so please tell us the good things about it.
Is it fairly accurate?
Is it flawless with FMJ amd other hollow points?
Give us some positives about it so we at least understand why you are keeping this gun.

I'm waiting on a Custom Carry right now.

I sure hope it runs better than that Pro.

Thanks for the writeup, you have a lot more patience than I do. I can't stand finicky guns.
