Recently picked up a new Glock 26 from a fellow forum member and took it to the range today to find out that the slide would not close after I loaded up my first magazine. I originally thought it was an issue with the slide release but the slide notch had cleared the release. I unloaded the gun, stripped it, and found out that the metal piece that sticks out at the top of the Trigger Mechanism Housing was bent and I guess preventing the round from chambering thus, holding my slide open. :faint:

I've never seen or heard of this happening and I'm not sure what the best way to fix it would be. Here's a photo, thanks for any help you can offer.

The part in question is called the ejector. The 9mm ejector is long and bent. The ejector in the pic is clearly a 9mm ejector. You are good to go.
The problem with the mag may be that it is new. Try loading 9 rounds for awhile. You should be good to go
