Duracoat is a spray on finish
AFAIK, the RIA's are all Parkerized.

jsut did a search and you are correct, they do have Duracoat RIA's.
the search also turned up issues with the Duracoat peeling/flaking off.

Park is fine. if you want a tough finish, Cerakote over the parkerized finish. that's how Chuck does it, and how i'm going to do my TRP Champion.

and this is from Ivan from RIA in regards to the peeling Duracoat.

Please send the pistol back to us we will replace it. We cannot refinish it, sorry it may take a month or two because we do not make that many of them.
Thanks
Ivan

Worn Duracoat looks like hell.

Worn parkerizing is almost as cool as worn bluing.

Parkerizing is more of an acid bath than it is a "finish".

Cerakote has proven to be much more durable than Duracoat. We apply finishes at our store and the Duracoat was not impressive at all.
Parkerizing is great for rust/corrosion resistance, but is very poor along the lines of holster wear resistance.

I don't think parking is bad at all, to be honest.

I like park too. It's ok if it wears quick because it looks good with some wear and you can repark 4 or 5 times for the price of one Ion-Bond or Black T or hard chrome.

It soaks up oil and keeps the gun from rusting.

There's also something authentic looking about a parked GI.

And you really have ot find a good refinisher who has done hundreds of Duracoat jobs. Otherwise, it looks like glossy sprayed on coating. Yes, it's thick and durable.

Can be done by the right person.
