I was going through the old duty belt thread today and saw that most of the pics don't work anymore...I guess GT prunes attachments after awhile...so I decided to start a new one.

Here goes:

I am probably near the top of the "gear queer" list. I just bought a nylon belt and pouches and have the following configurations: (all are from left to right)

Alright guys...post 'em if you got 'em!

And I'd recommend opening a photobucket account instead of eating up GT's server space with attachments.

We've got M26s that pretty much make wearing my gear impossible...it rides in the center console. I long for an X26, because I could make it work. I don't carry my cell phone on my belt because I don't want to damage it...it rides above the visor.

I should point out if it isn't obvious that I have one basic leather belt and one basic nylon belt and just switch holsters and mag pouches.

LET'S SEE SOME PICS, GUYS!

Did anybody see the article in the first issue of "American Cop" talking about excessive duty belt crap? They put a belt together with EVERYTHING on it...including a phone and blackberry and maybe some other stuff.

I saw it while I was in the academy, so I don't have a copy to scan.

Everything i have on my belt i use several times a week. I have it arranged so that it doesnīt bother me in the least.
Itīs like wearing a vest. Itīs heavy, cumbersome and warm. But you have it just for that one day in your life your life depends on it.

Being a small guy myself, I've got very limited room on my duty belt and it shows. Most of my coworkers often wonder why I've got two bags. Most of it simply has no room on my belt

I love the Kimber. There are a lot of people that don't like the series II firing pin safety, but that's fine...more guns for me.

I'll grab some pics of the kimber when my camera's batteries are recharged.

As far as buying stuff goes...I was issued some and bought some when I started. All the stuff I was issued was sub-par crap, so I replaced it all. Now the only thing that isn't mine is the radio (and the holder on my leather belt, but the one on the nylon is mine)

It was NIB when it was issued to me in 2004. I have 800-1000 180 grain Speer Lawman and GDHPs through it..

I gave them $397.25 for it with three mags, Trijicon nite sites, and a bianchi leather off duty paddle holster.

Yes, $397 for a USP.:supergrin:

Yep... two 10 rounders in an open top carrier for speed reloads and two 8 rounders in a closed top carrier for security. I just can't get used to wearing a quad mag carrier. They seem entirely too cumbersome.
I don't want to give up carrying almost half my ammo, so I'm stuck with two double-mag carriers.

I also can't get comfortable with a double handcuff carrier. I had to give up my ASP, but since I work nights I've always got my SL-20 on me.

Alright..

I know I haven't been around for a while. FTO is kicking my ass.

I promised to show the new goods, so here they are:

Left to right:
Safariland double cuff case. (It's a Colorado thing. I miss my doubles in the rear.) Peerless and Hyatt chain nickel.

Safariland 6285? Lefty basketweave with a G34. G34 has TrueGlo TFOs and a TLR-1.

A newly purchased Streamlight Stinger (to replace the one I gave back to old dept.)

Newly purchased 21 inch ASP in ASP B/W Scabbard

Metal radio holder for a Motorola XTS-5000.. Namely the one on the right..

http://www.eurocomtel.com/immagini/Motorola/Astro/XTS_Astro.jpg

Generic ass OC (I miss the Fox) in a MK-4 opentop holder.

Double mag opentop case from Bianchi #29, with two G17/34 mags. Not pictured, is a X26, which stays at the station with the radio.

Actually, they will. Allow me to elaborate.

They purchased most of my equipment, except for the following:

Pistol
Tac light
Flashlight
Duty Bag
Posse Box
Boots
Gloves

These were all things that I needed. They would pay for one (1) handcuff case. Since they were paying for one, I decided to make that a double cuff case.

I couldn't afford to buy anything, but the stuff above, since I had to pay for moving from Texas to Colorado, pluss all of the bills for him and her, plus my former department has "lost" my last check, which is about $2000, so that's why I only have one cuff case. :supergrin:

A buddy of mine has a TDI knife and wears it on his inner belt (duty belt on top) in about the 10 or 11 o'clock position with the handle set up for a right handed draw. He loves it.

Cochese
10-01-2006, 14:30
Yeah, in the instructions, it says it's designed to be worn on the inner belt on the opposite side of your pistol for cross draw at 3:00.

I'm either gonna keep it on the inner belt, or it's going on a vest strap. Not sure yet. It is sweet though.

After seeing some stuff that passes for duty gear (on the street, not here!), I thought that Safariland should hold a contest for the worst-looking duty belt, with pics sent in by their co-workers. You know, the ones that were originally basketweave, but has been worn smooth or the cuff cases are so worn that you can see some metal of the cuff poking through the bottom. They could post some pics on their website, and award the winner(s) a new duty rig. That would get everyong thinking about the appearance of their gear, and probably help sell some things.

The belt is from uncle mikes, one big leatherman, glock security holster, handcuffs, glock mag holder, pepperspray pouch. Not in that order.

I am looking forward to get me a couple of extra gear, some kind of glove holder, surefire holder, an expendable baton, little pocket for some kind of weapon light, probably not a glock one, they look awful ;)

It's a Kuston Signals holder. It actually had a fat belt loop on the back that dropped it down below the level of my belt and every time I sat down it jabbed me in the thigh. I got a Bianchi Accumold and it was even worse, so I cut the loop off of the Kustom Signals one and cut two slits in the back of the case that I could fish my belt through.

It was way tight getting the mic in there for the first little while, but it's stretched out a bit now and works great. I can keep it up front where I have easy access to the controls, it is right in line with my belt and best of all it doesn;t leave a big bruise on my thigh every time I sit down.

Now that I'm comfortable with it and it's broken in, I'm sure we'll be changing mic's. :upeyes:

How about little reviews about the everyday gear?. Would be very interesting in my opinions.

I can remember years ago when working supply we had a new female that could not get all her gear on her duty belt. Her waist was so small there wasn't enough room for everything. All the stuff touched when put on her belt. I think she wore a 24" belt so placing everything on it was a chore. She was very tall and skinny but could open a can of whoop butt on ya in a second!!!

From belt buckle to the right: Cuff case w/ ASP cuffs, holster w/ G23, ASP in holder, latex glove case in small of back (flat-type), MK4 OC on the left hip, and dual-mag pouch vertical left-front. It actually isn't believe it or not.

Began wearing it a little when I was in the academy.... last JULY!

Its been on the street since September.

It is really just a trick of the light, if you look from underneath it, all the snaps show... if you look down from the top, its all black and nothing shows.

My holster shows a little wear from rubbing on things.

It's a little dirty, but that comes from the woods.

I get bored late at night alot, and go exploring out in the woods lol, so I keep it dirty. I clean it alot.

That and all my dang footchases lately. I swear there is something in the air these last few weeks.

As far as the tools being worn...

My mags are well used, I shoot a good bit.
The radio is the depts.. it is worn smooth, but as you can tell, is Jurassic.
The Stinger has some nicks in it, from dropping it and banging it into things, but hasnt began to wear the finish yet.
The Cuffs are beginning to get a little worn, but not too bad.
The ASP is mainly nicked up from training, and playing around.
The G22 is FINALLY beginning to get a tad of holster wear. I use it almost exclusively off duty as well.
The OC, well, its came out on a few dogs, but thats about it.

Yup. Bianchi Accumold.

Its the only way I'd go Nylon. Because it is molded, and doesnt look sloppy. Only think I don't like, is that it is a little hard to keep clean if you play in the woods alot. Gotta keep wiping it down with a wet cloth, and occasionally washing it.

I may eventually go with Bianchi Accumold Elite.

Uniform pants with keys, knife and other junk

There are lots of trails around here that lead to places kids hang out and, um, do stuff they shouldn't. Sometimes when there isnt much activity, I go bug some kids.. smokin pot, tearin crap up, makin out.. the usual.

There are also a few roads that are too washed out to drive down, and alot of times you find stolen cars down them..

Stuff like that. I get bored and go play in the woods sometimes.

As far as runnin up on badguys, well, I just hope I'm a better shot than they are, after all, thats all I do when I'm on the road or in someones house, as opposed to in the woods... is look for badguys..

OK picture whores....

Here's my setup....

All of it is Uncle Mike's nylon. Bought new in 1998 and still rocking along. I replaced the actual duty belt last spring.

The contents of each pouch is shown above it's respective place.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v607/OXCOP/100_0425.jpg

Right to left:

- Buckle (in case PJMN didn't know that)
- "Man in the Can" OC spray
- Double mag pouch for Sig 226 mags each holding 12 rounds of 125 gr. Winchester Ranger SXT in .357SIG
- 16 channel Vertex radio. Has more frequencies than people I want to talk to. Water department? Are you ****ting me?
- Streamlight Stinger rechargeable....complete with worn on/off switch (the sign of a non-rookie) :supergrin:
- single cuff case with pair of hinged S&W cuffs (for those asshats in our lives)
- ASP baton and case
- Uncle Mike's Pro-3 triple retention holster with Sig 226DAK in .357SIG
- single cuff case with chained S&W cuffs
- holder for body mic (which stays charging in the car)
- other buckle (again, for PJMN's sake)

There are also 4 matching keepers and an inner belt somewhere in the closet.

Above is the original belt that I passed out of our academy with 13 years ago. Nothing more than the .38, a dump pouch baton ring and handcuffs. I went all wild and got a double split six and 2 x comp2 speedloaders on it and was considered a "Tackleberry" hehe.

The current belt (below) is in standard configuration, with the addition os a leatherman and a torch ring.

Ahhh, gotcha. I was going to post my rig, but a) my camera's busted, and b) I had to take it all apart and only use the flashlight and glove pouch as I started a new job (last one is under investigation by the labor department, if that tells you anything). Whenever I get it back together, and a new camera, I will post it, though.

Not a cop yet but got a duty belt setup from a rummage sale for $1. In pretty good condition too.

Has [L->R]:
Safariland belt
Streicher's double mag case for Glock 9mm
ASP baton case for 26" model
Safariland OC case
Safariland cuff case
Gall's two pouch glove case
Safariland cuff case
G&G flashlight loop for D-cell
G&G holster*

*Judging by the 9mm Glock mag carrier I ass-u-me the holster is for a G17/19. Has thumb snap and middle finger snap (by trigger guard). No model info on it, just the G&G stuff on the back.

Not too shabby for a dollar. And it fits me. I'll post a pic when I can get to a broadband computer.

One spare mage mate. Next to H/cuff pouch.

In New South Wales the only people who carry a second spare are our SPG and Weapons trainers.

Victoria are sill using .38 revolvers. Their commissioner is getting her knickers in a knot over them wanting to convert to Glocks.

The Cuffs are hiatts. They come in several colors. I have yellow and red. I also own yellow ASP cuffs but they are harder to get a case for.

Bianchi also makes the Accumold elite in basket weave. It is lighter than leather. and a bit less maintenance intensive. If the department allows I would look into it.

Ray "The Big Boss Man" Taylor Dies (http://slam.canoe.ca/Slam/Wrestling/2004/09/23/639653.html)

I know it's old news by now, but here's an article I just found about him. He was big when I was a wrestling fan. Apparently, as I've known for some time, he was a Prison Guard in Georgia before joining WWF.

The Big Boss Man is dead. Ray Traylor, a WWF star as The Big Boss Man, died Wednesday. According to The Wrestling Observer, Traylor and his family were visiting with his sister at his home in Dallas, Ga. Traylor's two daughters went upstairs to play, while his wife Debbie briefly left the room at about 10 p.m., and returned to find him on the sofa. A preliminary report suggested he had a massive heart attack.

Virginia promoter Marvin Ward, who had scheduled Traylor with Dennis Condrey and Bobby Eaton for an Oct. 30 show in Waynesboro, Va., said he was stunned by the news.

"This is just tragic," said Ward, who had talked to Traylor within the last few days and spoke with Condrey and Traylor's representatives again Thurday morning.

As they described the picture to him, Traylor and his family were visiting with his sister at his home in Dallas, Ga. Wednesday night. Traylor's two daughters went upstairs to play, while his wife Debbie briefly left the room at about 10 p.m., and returned to find him on the sofa. "It was apparently that quick," Ward said. "Everybody is just in shock."

Traylor began his career in 1986 as Jim Cornette's bodyguard Big Bubba Rogers. His career saw him perform in WWE, WCW and All Japan Wrestling, and he has competed as The Big Boss Man, The Boss, The Guardian Angel, War Machine, and under his real name and he teamed with Akeem in the late '80s as 'The Twin Towers.' At 6-foot-6, 330 pounds, he was a legitimate Twin Tower.

He had high profile feuds with Hulk Hogan, Ted Dibiase, Nailz, The Heenan Family, Vader, Al Snow, and many others. His last major run was with the WWF in 1998-99 as a part of the Corporation.

Bossman's feud with "The Mountie" Jacques Rougeau culminated in the Canadian spending a night in jail after a loss. Rougeau remembers the time fondly. "It was one of the greatest moments of my career. No matter how bad the situation looked like when I was put in jail with that big 400-pound, 7-foot guy, the Mountie always gets his man!" said Rougeau.

Traylor was indeed a prison guard in Cobb County, Georgia before turning to wrestling.

All pouches are Blackhawk accumold. Wanted to buy bianchi first, but sadly galls.com didnt deliver to Austria (they dont sell this kind of stuff there, but a couple of other things. Its against their policy... wtf? stupid?), so I found a much better shop in Switzerland polizeibedarf.ch. Nice contact, quick delivery.

The flaps where the belt goes through is very tight so the pouches stay where they are.
The silent key holder is a little bit too stiff at the moment, but I guess it gets more flexible when used.

... have to get a new leatherman pouch.. damn wanted to use a Bianchi accumold mag holder instead but it wasnt in stock

Interesting choice for a duty weapon. Not very common at all. I actually didn't know they made the ALS holster for it.

You are right, it's not very common.
I like it. It's VERY accurate, almost no recoil which helps accuracy even more, I can make accurate six holes in a second or so.
It is VERY light even fully loaded. I can't even feel it on my belt, and enough to do what it's designed to.

There are quite a few companies that make duty holsters for it. I like Safariland but I like BladeTech even better.

That is how it's suppose to be and that is how mag pouch was designed.

When you grab it, pull it out and with a right hand holding a gun you insert a mag with your left hand (no wrist twisting).

It's faster than any other method.

- 21" ASP
- Digilight 1000XB (Interview/Searching light)
- Cap-Stun Z-305 OC
- Motorola XTS 5000 w/ GPS Locator/Mic combo
- * Streamlight Stinger (used in a Blackhawk double ring as I also carry my 2 or 4 cell Mag-Lite depending on my need)
- Smith & Wesson M-100 (2 pair)
- H&K P2000 .40 S&W
- 24rds of .40
- Monadnock flex-cuff cutters tucked in behind mag-pouch

My belt is from Galls. My o.c., radio holder, cuff case, and mag pouch are from Bianchi. My holster is a Safariland 6280. Holsters for ASP, Digilight, and Gerber are proprietary to each brand. Buckle is the standard Cop-Lok.

* The Stinger works great for shining through thick brush and terrain at night, but when it comes to cutting/tracking sign on foot, I go with the Mag-Lite as it illuminates prints on the ground perfectly. So one remains in my Camelbak depending on what I am doing, while the other is in the ring if I am out of my vehicle in the field. If I am working traffic/city operations, I stick to my Digilight and leave both the Stinger and Mag-Lite stored away. However, I think I am going to look into the new Pelican to replace both my Stinger and Mag-Lite.

Well, since this thread got started mine has gotten a bit heavier and more full.
I've added the tazer and another set of cuffs.

Damn... You carry 3 sets of cuffs on your belt? I'm jealous you don't have to carry mace and get the taser though... thats awesome.

I didn't know that LMDC allowed the buckless belt; thought they required the sam browne-type belt like LMPD?

They're switching them to the buckle less ones, though the others were grandfathered in. Same with the duty guns you will see Sigs, Berettas, and S&W pistols around cause of that, but new officers can only carry Glocks. And now new officers supposedly can't carry the 34 or 35...only for the "team".

That sucks about the 34/35. I was considering applying again, and was going to get one of those as my duty weapon.

Okay, finally got my old belt back together. It's not the same belt that I had it all on originally, but I've put that one somewhere and don't know where. It was on a Bianchi PatrolTek belt, but the one in the pic is a cheap galls one.

Left to right: Dual mag pouch, MK4 OC, Surefire G2, glove case, ASP (16" in pic, originally had 21" that has since been sent to another GTer), G23 in Bianchi Defender holster, ASP cuffs in Blackhawk cuff case. Everything but the cuff case and belt is Bianchi Accumold or PatrolTek.

Just so you know, big chance that we are getting rid of BDU's/Nylon duty gear. It's going to be Class A/Hi-gloss gear only if it goes through for 2008. Only Sort/Swat can wear BDU's.

Here is a newer one.

Peerless chain and hinged, both blued in a Safariland double case.
G34 with a TLR-1 in a 6280.
D-Ring.
Streamlight Stinger LED DS in a modded ASP scabbard.
XTS 5000 in a metal holder.
X26.
Two 19 round mags with factory Glock +2's in a Safariland opentop mag holder.

So you're still sticking with the double cuff case and open top mag pouch, huh?

I tried staying with two on my kidneys but it was killing me in the car for 10-14 hours a day. I don't really like snaps over my mags. With the correct retention, an open top job'll keep 'em where they belong. I don't need stuff in my way when I'm going for a reload with absolutely no fine motor control and adrenaline pouring out my ass.

I have a double cuff case setup on my nylon belt. Reason being, a double cuff case up front gets in the way when I ride and I'm not in a car enough for it to be a bother on my back.

I started inn 2004 with two to the back, closed top. I then went with just a single up front and extra cuffs in my bag. Out here in Colorado, the cool kids use a double up front, so I tried it.

Werks goood.:wavey:

Cochese: No spray out there in the mountains?

We can carry an X26, 500,000 SHU Deftec ghetto OC and a 21 inch ASP or any combination thereof.

I ditched the backscratcher and the hairspray since we are only required to carry one of the three.

I have a 26" cusco baton in my bag to get under my vest and open the passenger side vent and a can of the OC in my bag for my Taco Bell.

Looks like I'll wake this thread up.

Front center going clockwise:

* Blackberry
* Single cuff case w/S&W 100's,
* keeper,
* Safariland 070 drop holster w/Glock 22,
* keeper,
* 21" ASP,
* keeper,
* multi-tool in a 1911 mag pouch,
* glove pouch,
* keeper,
* MKIV spray,
* Porta-Clip radio holder (Motorola XTS3000),
* Stinger light,
* double open top mag case,
* keeper

http://usera.imagecave.com/glock35ipsc/Belt1.jpg
http://usera.imagecave.com/glock35ipsc/Belt4.jpg

Since the OC, radio holder, flashlight, and mags are so close as to not allow a keeper in-between, I stuck on some velcro using an adhesion promoter to the back of the radio holder and the mag pouch. The velcro holds nicely, and since I used the adhesion promoter (kind of like an added layer of glue), the velcro hasn't hinted that they want to come off.

I'm going to replace the MKIV size spray with a MKIII size. When I do that, that case will go next to the cuff case where the Blackberry rests for now. I'll probably put the Blackberry where the MKIV is currently.

Everything is Bianchi Accumold Elite, except for the 1911 mag (multi-tool) pouch and the belt. Belt is an Uncle Mikes, and the 1911 mag pouch is a cheap unknown.

BTW, I have been a long time poster here under the username "FireCop-G19", but haven't been allowed to post lately. I'm not sure why, but I get a window saying I don't have permission to post, and emails sent to Eric haven't been returned. And the forum wont let me send a PM. Is anyone here a moderator or admin that could check on this for me?

All nylon is Bianchi Accumold except gerber pouch.
I didn't put the keepers on it b/c I'm lazy, but I use the molded ones, not the nylon b/c they are stiffer.

-dbl glock mag pouch
-keeper
-21" ASP in side break ASP holder
-unknown radio clip (issued - no clue)
-stramlight flashlight holder
-glove/pager pouch (used to hold M3 light)
-keeper
-2 single cuff cases
-gerber multi-plier in case
-keeper
-Safariland ALS holster with Glock 31 and TLR-1
-keeper
-Small OC pouch w/ def-tech OC (used maybe once in the last 2 years)

Radio is Motorolla GP1225 - it's on the charger along with the light.

They're in the middle of trying to get tazers now. I'm not looking forward to getting zapped, but I think they are a great tool.

Though honestly I'll take a good exposure to CN or CS before I get tased again.

ASP, flashlight, taser taser taser, radio aka the brick, handcuffs, key holder, SigPro, the real OC, extra rounds.
The buckle is from Uncle Mike's, looks like a regular sam browne but it's actually fake.

Yep, of course LT's on up walk around with just a gun. I carry a lot of stuff and I'm not on the 50" belt diet so I'm thinking of dropping my asp and oc and just keeping the taser. I will have to talk to the chief who has to approve stuff like this.

Just wondering because some oc uses alcohol as a carrier, so when the lucky recipiant of the mace gets the tazer too, there is the possibility of a dull blue flame.

AKA shake and bake.:supergrin: Ah, he'll get over it.

Haha, please my dept. has now issued us the non-flammable kind. We are CALEA cert'd so liability is our #1 priority followed by making sure all paperwork is filled out correctly then serving the community. :supergrin:

Or the possibility of an extremely bright flame that hits 400+ degrees in a matter of seconds, as per the videos included on the Taser training DVD. And FWIW, they show just how "non flammable" some OC really is.

The only thing not pictured is the Taser which goes between the mag pouch and the OC pouch.

Someday I'll get my AE Nelson leather mag pouch on there which will give me a tad more room on that side of the belt.

All items are Boston Leather unless otherwise noted. :)
From left to right...

Mag Pouch, HT1250 with Shoulder Mic (really thinking about going to an 'in-ear' setup), Pearless Cuffs (Have ASP Chain cuffs that will go here as soon as the holder comes in), ASP Hinged Cuffs in ASP Holder, Stinger, G32 W/M3 in Safariland 6280, FirstDefense MK3.

And yes...I know the 6280 is all skuffed up/ripped on the outter leather, but the dept issued it and it works flawlessly. If they would let me carry a Level III SERPA holster I would have already replaced it...but NOO...has to be Hi-Gloss. lol Love my SERPA for off duty. :)

Thanks! It's a work in process. lol

They don't issue us batons, because most of the officers don't carry them, but if we wish to carry them we can get a PO and they'll pay for the baton and holder.
