I just made a few upgrades to my Kimber Custom TLE II, so I might as well post some pics. I replaced the plastic MSH with a steel Kimber MSH w/magwell, and I replaced the stock rubber grips with a set of VZ G10 Double Diamond Black Desert grips. I'm really happy with both choices.

My first 1911:
http://www.axcessmypics.com/photos/photo04/6c/e4/d1cb4db7dbb0.jpg
I bought it used, but here's its history according to the original owner: It started life as a Springfield Loaded parkerized, then was sent it to Bob Cogan for a bead blast flaw removal(factory tooling marks under the finish get removed) then he did a 2-tone hard chrome finish(high areas brushed, low area matte), jeweled barrel, jeweled hammer sides, trigger job, matched plated grip screws, and carbon creations grips, and Novak low mount night sights.
Its my first "flashy" gun since most of my others are strictly owned for carry. Got to shoot it for the first time last week, and I'm in love with my 1911.

And you bought it just in time. (gearheadjunkie2 here from TR)
I had the money for it the week after you bought it. I am the original owner of that 1911, Bob Cogan did the work for me at his old shop in Safety Harbor before he moved up north. I hope you enjoy the pistol, it still looks good.

Holy Cow!!
What a gorgeous pistol... I immediately went to CZusa's website to check this model out. What mods did you have done to it? This might have to be my next 1911 purchase... love the cco idea for carry!
can you tell us more, perhaps start a thread just for this purpose?
thanks

And another.
This is my retirement gift to me. I figure after 25 years of Naval service I owe myself something. Was worth the wait, wish my photo kung-fu did the pistol justice.
Congratulations, thank you for your service to our contry:patriot:, and very nice custom 1911 you have there.

Hey freak nice gun bud... I carry everyday the pro carry II HD in 45acp.
Not a real Kimber fan, BUT... Had no clue that had this gun in 10mm. I cannot find it on their sight. Did they stop making it in 10mm?
I'm so far behind the herd, I just now found out that Colt brought back the Delta Elite. Looking at one of thos for 900.00, but also interested if Kimber still makes this one.
If you can help, I appreciate it.
Thanks

Thanks.
The very first 1911 I shot in 1994 or so was a Colt Govt model with pachmeyer grips. I also had them on the MC Operator I had up until recently (sold it to help pay off the Ed Brown). I got hooked on these grips again by that MC Operator.
I just added the grips to the two guns in the past week or two. I've shot them with the new grips - like em a lot :)
Thanks.

luckily it was a direct drop in w/o fitting in my GI but it might require fitting depends on the sear you use.
Midway is out of stock on those last time i checked.

Thanks zdragon23c. I can get my hands on original 1918 hardware such as a safety, slide release, etc., but the finish does not really match my SA GI well. I might just throw them on it anyway to replace a few MIM parts because they are free. I will check Midway from time to time though thanks again.

For those who have not seen a Luke Volkmann, below is a pic of their blued "signature" version with polished flats. They like to claim its a safe queen that will "run with the best of them". My shooting experience supports their claim. I'm not an expert pistolero, but this gun is as accurate as my best from any make or in any caliber. I hope you enjoy. Stay safe, Steve

Bac, i got to shoot one of these last week at a PPC practice...one of my buddy's he said he bought it a few years ago and it actually sat in his safe until a few weeks ago, he said its week 3 and he has already put 2,000 rounds through it, he said his volkmann now has a permanent spot in his safe and this has a permanent spot on his hip.
