If you begin to think about what sort of carry ettiquette there should be:

Should the carry gun match the tie? Purse? shoes? Or should it compliment?

What Glcok for what occasion?

Should there be anything about seasons? ("I can't believe that Ted was packing a 2" snubby AFTER Labor Day")

And what is the best carry for a Tux? (This one is a no-brainer: Walther PPK.)

1) That depends on where you're concealing it.

2) Also acceptable is anything with Pearl or Ivory grips. (Imitation pearl or Ivory IS acceptable.)

3) Lasergrips Go good with any attire.

Your school doesn't allow guns in the dorms/apartments/res halls and you've had people surprised that you don't keep your gun there. "Where's your gun?" "Locked behind 400 lbs of gun safe and bolted to the floor"

I had a guy let me shoot his GLOCK 23 at the range one time (That's when I started to like the GLOCKs. Had shot a G36 before and didn't like it.), and my dad let him shoot his semi-auto Tommy gun. This guy's 8 year old son wanted to shoot it, but he told him "No, son. It's a really heavy gun. I don't think you'd be able to hold it." Naturally the boy was a bit disappointed, So I pulled out my Ruger P90, and asked his dad "If It's ok with you, he's welcome to shoot this one." He said it was fine. The boy loved shooting a .45!

I have heard that question I dunno HOW many times at the range or showing guns to frinds or family. AND I NEVER GET TIRED of hearng it! I've also filled up my share of shooting lanes with my guns. Never the whole thing though. Garland Public Shooting Range is a fairly big range.

you might be a gun nut if
>>you sold your kidney to buy more guns and ammo
>>you tried to talk your wife/girlfriend into selling hers to buy more guns and ammo
>>cheaper than dirt automatically sends you ammo every month
>>if your mom buys you a gun safe to protect the grandkids(guilty)thanks mom
the local, county and state police have your home and cell number on speed dial for the major SHTF situation.
>>the fire department has your house preplanned in case of a fire.
>>your insurance company dropped you because of all the ammo stored in the house.
>>you had to crawl under the house and put in more supports under the walk in closet because the ammo makes the floor sage.
>>DOT stopped the UPS truck on the way to your house with ammo and fined him for no explosive or lead hazard placards.

i just bought a toyota tun 4x4. there is a compartment on the door that will hold a 27/22 mag. had several stored in the console on the ceiling until the wife opened one and a mag fel out and broke a finger nail. spent several days in the dog house for that one.

If a friend boasts about his personal arsenal of 10 guns and you can't remember when you had "only" 10 guns.

If your friend refuses to believe the actual number of guns you have.

If he looks totally defeated when you show him. Not to mention in total awe.

IF he says he now has a purpose in life-to catch up with you and your collection.

If your friend looks at a particular gun and says "I didn't know they actually made a gun like that.

If youre first thought after spending 4 hours reloading is "You know, now is a good time to go do some shooting"

If you think the circle of life is: Shooting - pick up the empty cases - clean the cases - reloading - shooting - pick up the empties - clean - reload - shoot - pick up - clean - reload - shoot...and so on. The circle continues.

If given a choice of shooting or free beer, you choose shooting...then free beer. :drink:

Here you go Walter, from the list:

205. If the truck you haul your guns to the range has at least two of the following: air horns, air brakes, 10/00 x 22 tires, a backup alarm, 10 speed road ranger transmission, air ride seat, 300 Cummings turbo charged engine, 100 gallon saddle tanks, twin 6 inch exhaust stacks or 10 tires or more.

Substitute "Gun Show" for "Range" and you're set!

When booking a cruise, your travel agent highlights, underlines and reads aloud the cruise line's no firearms policy.

The cruise director meets you at the ship and reminds you of the policy.

If when you're settled in, your wife asks "So, what did you bring and where is it?"

After evaluating your ammo stock, you "settle" for your 1911 in .45 ACP. And upon shooting it, the range officer complements your "comfort" with the gun! :)

If you can make 10 thread entries on the mysterious “Bump stick”.

Or worse, if you can make Navy HMC ask "What the hell is a "Bump Stick???"

Sorry David9966, I had to... :wavey:

I know a guy (went to school with his brother) who mailed home an M16A1. His mother turned him in. He got 20 months (he had 20 months to go on his 4 year enlistment) at "hard" labor (pushed a lawn mower at Ft.Benning).

When he got out with his dis-honorable discharge he asked the AG office if he could keep the rifle!

Now that's nuts.

My name is chewbaca and I'm a gun nut. I'm afraid I've been lying to the group. I had a relapse last week and bought Ruger New Vaquero with a 7" barrel and in a shiny, beautifully polished stainless steel. Also, I've been going to the un-official range after work, and even at lunch time, too to pick up brass that I have been secretly reloading at night. I'm so ashammed. I haven't even shot any of them yet, just hording them But that's not my fualt, it's those bastards at the GT Survival forum that made me do it!!

I saw that out of the corner of my eye, noticed it was made of guns, and was completely distracted from noticing the several other sculptures nearby.
In my defense, it was a pretty hot afternoon.
In the artist's defense, people in Cambodia may have different feelings towards guns.

And...thanks to whomever took that picture because without having seen it I might consider myself less of a gun nut.;)The guy that made the sculpture was possibly a gun nut but simply had shot out the barrels of most of these weapons, and wanted to honor them by giving them an after life, or something like that.

Be careful with that.... I once had a bottle of #9 break in my room... I was exposed to so much I couldn't smell, and completely lost my voice. Took me a week to figure out why I was feeling so bad.... My roommates didn't mention the smell, figured I knew about it....

If you can't remember your anniversary but can remember your load data including velocities out of three different rifles that you haven't used for 10 years..

If you can rememeber the dates of your upcoming shooting matches for the next 6 months but not your dental appointment that you made 5 days ago.

If the only reason you remember your anniversary is that your wife promised you a new gun since it's your 10th.

If you celebrate your 50th gun in the collection by looking for a gold plated one. (Desert Eagle anyone?)

If you're itching to get a new gun and have to look at not only your collection but the inventory to see what you don't have yet.

If you're going to get a new gun and DON'T have to look at what you already have because you have whole list memorized.

If you don’t need to think about it because you have a “Gun I must have” list

If you keep your "Guns I must have" list in your wallet.
