I was in there the other week, and got the new .380 Bodyguard for $369 and got a chance to look around the shop; nice place!

For those not in the know, here's some info on their "future":

They are setting up production for in-house barrel making
They had 400 uppers receivers on hand waiting to be constructed
They are opening a 12-bay, temp. controled 25 yard range; .308 will be allowed. (I asked about using one's own ammo, and it looks like you may have to purchase ammo there. They weren't sure yet if this will be a rule or not, but their ammo prices are great!)
Just wanted to share.

Can you tell us where this shop is located? I have bought ammo from them but only at gun shows.

Been there a few times. Very nice folks! Hope they get that range open soon. Give Shooter's Choice a little friendly competition for range business, etc. And their ammo prices are great!

I'm one of their regular customers since it's only about 3.5 miles from my house. Nice place, nice people.

Actually there is another indoor range in Lexington county but with their range prices they won't be any competition for Shooters Choice. They are located at I-20 & Highway 6 ... http://www.defenderrange.com

Here's a list of their fees:

Range time 30 minutes for $10
Additional shooter using same lane $5
Eyes/Ear protection $2.50
Gun Rental $6 per half hour
Targets - small .50, medium .75 and large .95

A 1 year membership is $125 and that gets you ...
50% off lane rental
Free additional shooter using same lane (up to 10 guests annually)
Free targets
$10 off CWP training (SC $85, Utah $215)

Their lobby is smaller then most kids bedrooms.

ETA: They do NOT allow magnums of any caliber, there are other caliber restrictions but I can't recall them.

ETA: They also do not allow .22's

Last time I was in Columbia I found the PSA toy store. I had also bought stuff online, but never visited their store. Took my little boy and I picked up two stripped lowers with consecutive serial numbers. The people were very nice and gave my boy a bunch of stickers. Momma busted us when we got home and he stuck the stickers on his remote controlled trucks. :whistling:

My boy has it figured out when we go to Columbia....Daddy are we going to the gun stores?

The prices in Columbia are much better than Charleston. I've had good luck with the range at Shooter's Choice, but the main issue is on Saturday mornings they do CWP classes and the range is typically shut down. When we were up there earlier this year their range was closed for refurb, but I think they said they would be back up and running by Feb/March.

I've bought some Saiga stuff from them online, but I've never been to the shop. I'll have to swing by there some time.

Thanks!

There is almost always enough savings to make a trip to Columbia worth the drive.
