I like this. I've always wanted a SIS Pro, to flush crown the barrel on, put on a single sided safety and get bead blasted. The SC HD Pro is even better, as I like the slide serrations better than the SIS and it's "semi-bobtailed". Could be a very cool gun. :whistling:

I have always thought the SIS 1911s were some of the best that Kimber has produced. From the looks to the specs I like them.

Back cover of the latest GUNS magazine. Not on Kimber's newly updated website for some strange reason. :dunno:

I really wish I wouldn't have looked at 1911forum and seen this new gun. I have a super carry pro already, and a super carry custom hd would be a perfect match. Has anybody heard of a price yet?

Hmmm, I thought one of their selling points for the Super Carry was light weight.

I was wondering about the price of the super carry hd. Thank you

When I see a price tag like that on a Kimber I can't help but ---->

There are a lot of other pistols out there in that price range I'd choose before Kimber.

Granted that's MSRP...but street price puts it in VBOB territory, and that's a no-brainer.

I have been looking at the Super Carry at my local shop everytime I go in and look around. It looks sweet. But, I do not care for aluminum framed Kimbers, as they do not use ramped barrels (except for the 3" ones).

I saw this ad, and decided to pick one up and hold it last week. The texture on the front strap combined with the finish they use made it WAY too slippery IMHO.

I thought I might be interested in the steel version, but after holding one, I am not...

Now, while I don't think I would ever own a Kimber, I have to admit they don't look too bad. However, I believe scales should be left only to Brown, because well...they do it right.

Well, the thumb safety looks like it sticks out three feet, so I don't know about CC.

I like it too. I want to hold one. Might make a nice BUG.

Maybe someone can clue me in on why you would want a full size grip with a 3" barrel? You're accentuating the part you want to minimize, and shortening the part you want to be longer (I know this will end up being butchered in some perverted way :D). I can see the value of a CCO platform, but why this configuration?

that is costly. kimber does make some quality 1911 guns. would rather pay more for a entry custom gun

Can you list a few that have the same features? Stainless steel frame, Stainless steel slide, rounded heel frame, night sights, front strap checkering, bobtail safety grip, ambi thumb safety...

I've been looking for a gun like this too but what I've found is even more expensive by over a grand.

I'm not saying that I want to pay close to $1,600 for this gun BUT would be interested in seeing some comparisons.

Thanks.

I'd take this and save $200 (and have a better gun).

I don' care what any of you guys say the Kimber Gold Combat and the Super Match are some sweet 1911s even at the high price point they demand.

:tongueout:

I really like them. I have had the most God awful POS devil made 1911 in history in a Kimber UCII with the EE and a great little UC Raptor II, A Kimber Warrior that was a pretty nice 1911 and a Kimber Custom II that was a pretty nice 1911 as well. I would drop the dollars on a Gold Combat if George would quit taking all my 1911 money

Nice first post..but as Hokie said the V-bob is a much better gun.. personally I would not own a SS pistol or one with an ambi-safety.. but hey if it works for you then by all means go for it..
